Power supply is standard micro sized, you should be able to replace it.

These are pretty quiet, too. A bonus in my book. Some people are reporting 900mhz processors in their boxes(!). Mine's just a 667, I haven't checked the other box but assume it's the same. Boxes FSCK on first boot, guess they've been on the shelves a while.

You can pop the lid off and look at it, or hook it up to a monitor. It's got red hat on it, just scroll up and it will tell you on boot.

Hey guys:

I just got 3 at the CompUSA at ElPaso... there was mass confusion when I asked about it. Finally one guy located it at the front in a locked area. There were 3, I asked him for all of them.

Another employee was upset that he had missed out on it... he said 'the router is worth $100 alone!'

Anyway, thanks for the deal...

registerfly.com is reasonably priced. Or godaddy.com.

Overland Park, KS and Independence, MO stores are both OOS.

Damn... really wanted one of these babies!

l2c

P.S. In the event I actually get a hold of one of these, does anyone know if there's room for two 3.5" HDDs in this? I don't care if there are brackets or not... is it even physically possible?

Also, how about mouse/kb? I guess a serial mouse could be used, but what about a KB?

San Diego County is out too. The dweeb on the phone said they had been "returned to the manufacturer."

Heat and power would make 2 HDD impossible even if it was physically possible. For the record since it's only like 4 inches high I doubt it. It does have 2 usb ports so you could do externals.

Any serial code or anything on box you could give us to possibly distinguish 900 form 667 models ? Maybe mfr date. Same goes to anyone else who bought one here.

I was thinking about doing that for a friend. But you really can't make these feasibly without a USB or parallel external cdrom. You could take the drive out and put the cabs and format /s it. Then you could install windows with the drive in the box. Just make sure you ahve the video and network drives on the drive too and you can get the rest off the net. But I still don't see it as a feasible everyday box without a cdrom and externals cost some bucks.

No because a 900 mhz celeron runs on 100 fsb and a 667 runs on 66. There's about a 60% performacne difference between the 2 smarta$$

Isn't the drive a 3.5" IDE? Couldn't you hook up a two-connector IDE cable and connect a CD-ROM as slave to allow Windows install, and then disconnect it once the install is done?

If AnandTech people are buying these and then reselling them on ebay rather than helping out fellow AnandTechers, it sure makes you want to STOP posting Hot Deals. Is that what this board is coming to now? A place to stock up on ebay merchandise?? That truly sucks...

windows98 booted fine on mine.. but I only got a 667 Celery-on. bummer..

the board specs show w2K compatibility. Doesnt appear to be a special bios.. only a boot image.. which I turned off so I could see the C-667 post screen in all its glory..

In a related note, when the CUSA employee realized what I had, he really tried to talk be out of it with the 'no returns on clearance' thing. I was like, I dont care, I'm buying it.. He kept asking me if I was sure... if I was *really* sure.. what jerks, he wanted it himself..

Yes, I'm smart and I have an ass.

There's little reason to need to look on a box, plug it in and see what you get.

Not really a problem but that still wouldn't necessary solve having the drivers available. Plus, I would rather just do this and get it over with fast rather than havign teh box open the whole time I'm installing windows and drivers on it. If you're ballsy , you could try running an IDE cable outside the case and just use a CDROM as an external with no enclosure. How many free molex's does this thing have inside ? I'd assume at most 1 since it only has 90W total to work with.

Lots of people put HD stuff on fleabay, it's just the way it is. Sucks, but...
