Zebo, Karaktu, and others all have valid points and for all intents & purposes, you lied to them. I'd use the word fraud, but it may be too strong and I don't want to get into an argument over diction.

Your only shot here at regaining ground is to apologize for the confusion, offer to fix the problem to the customer's content, and fix the problem that caused this issue in the first place.

I'm going to refrain from commenting more, despite my irritation with the callousness you have shown towards these problems, your problems.

Let me explain before you jump to other conclusions. I have four fans I found in a box of misc stuff. I can ship using USPS or UPS. The rest of my goods are in a warehouse that only ships via UPS. Don't assume the worst in people...

Yeah, don't bother giving the free fans to those who you screwed - ship them to the people who simply read this thread the soonest. What the hell does a giveaway have to do with screwing people over with shipping? NOTHING.

I'm not trying to be an asshole here, but you just seem to be ignoring the issue.

No, its not a big deal in the big scheme of things. Is it a good way to run a business? Hell no.

If I were in your shoes, I would have sent an e-mail if I was unable to ship via an agreed upon method. Someone mentioned that the type of shopping cart you use doesn't allow you to customize shipping options. Well I bet it would allow you to add some type of disclaimer that all USPS shipping will be done via UPS so don't bother choosing USPS.

The fact of the matter is you have bad business practices, whether the specific issues may be large or small.

EDIT With so many places, large or small, to shop online, you are only giving people more reason to not shop with you; good prices or not. Perhaps you should save face here and make it right, or just logoff now so you stop irritating people with your lame excuses or justifications.

Technically, you are correct: USPS Priority is $8.05 while UPS Ground is $7.41. The difference is $0.64. The shipping method was switched since the fulfillment warehouse will only ship UPS. It balances out - I sometimes lose money when I have to switch shipping method and I actually lose money on shipping (e.g. Shipping UPS to buyer in same state.)

Sun818, here's a little story to show what you're SUPPOSED to do when you screw up:

A few weeks ago I bought a pair of speakers from Newegg.com. When I received the box, only one speaker was there. After contacting their customer support, they informed me the price was incorrectly put as a pair. Then, a customer serivce rep contacted me and agreed to arrange a free pickup for the speaker, which weighed about 70 pounds. It would have cost me $130+ to mail it back myself. Also, the CSR offered me a $50 credit on top of a full refund (no restocking fee) in hopes to make up for his mistake. A few days later, he contacted me again informing me that $100 for my troubles was more appropriate. While I would still rather shop elsewhere, the customer support shown by Newegg in this situation was as much as I could ask for. Newegg immediately recognized that they made a mistake and offered to fix it in every possible way until I was satisfied.
