The hit detection in the game isn't super precise. It tells me I died when I know I didn't hit the pipe.

I wish something I threw together half arsed in a couple of days was making fiddy grand a day. Nice problem to have. Mind you, Apple gets a cut of that too, but it's still a metric assload of money.

I can't help but wonder about the sustainability of mobile gaming in its current state. Maybe I'll toss up a broader discussion on that in console gaming.

You can't pay for the app and you can't pay to remove ads. The iOS version only displays iAds. He would keep every bit of the ad revenue he earns with the iOS version (except what the government takes away).

How did a ripoff of a 12+ year old flash game become so popular? I'm fairly sure even the "original" helicopter game already has an iPhone app that didn't do this well.

I just read in the news that the creator is going to pull the game from the app stores. Of course he would do that since the game is making him only 50.000 dollar a day.
Only more people who would download it.
