I downloaded the newest bios from DFI's site and flashed it via the nTune tool, now I can't get the computer to boot.

It loads the standard screen and POST, but after it says verifying DMI pool it askes how I would like to start windows (i.e. Safe Mode, Normal mode) but then reboots. It's a constant loop. Anyone know how to fix this problem, reflash?

Since a BIOS update can sometimes change the way that the hardware appears and is identified by Windows, it is entirely possible that an update could cause Windows to fail to load, particularly if there was a change made to the hard disk (SATA or IDE), Memory, or CPU sub-systems.

If this is the case, then you will need to do a Windows repair (boot from your Windows CD, choose to install Windows in the same location as the previous install, and select to Repair the installation. If the repair doesn't work, you might have to do a complete new install of Windows. If neither of those is an option, then you'll need to flash the BIOS back to the version that you had previously so that Windows is able to properly identify the hardware in your system.

That's what I mean how do I flash the bios since It won't let me into windows? Is there a bootable piece of software I can DL that will flash, once the floppy drive is booted?

Yeah, DFI has autility that will image a bootable floppy or a cd. Go to their support page and BIOS download from their. Read comments to get the right thing

The Problem isn't with your bios (or i should say unlikely). you may need to do a repair install. Honestly with how many spontaneous reboots you have done i would recommend a fresh reinstall of windows (not the best solution but i am a huge fan of it.)

a) There's a warning somewhere (don't remember where) to not use N Tune.

b) SInce you can POST, you can at least get into BIOS, where you can try loading Optimized Defaults, save & exit.

Then do the clear cmos tango.
[unplug power cable, clear CMOS by moving the jumper to clear, pop out the cmos battery, wait awhile (an hour?? most folks would say 60 seconds, but I like much longer) Then move jumper back, replace battery & power cable]

Then reenter bios & load Optimized Defaults again, save & exit. Before you reenter bios yet again to configure it yourpreferred way, first see if you can boot into Windows with the OPtimized Default settings.

If "yes" if you can boot into Windows then your problem is that your old bios settings you had previously been using before your flash now need to be adjusted.
