Flashing bios within windows

I'd like to flash my bios using Abit's FlashMenu for Windows. The reason I like doing it via Windows is so that i can keep my existing setting in my bios. I have a solid overclock and I really dont want to do anything to change it - or risk not being able to reach the current clock speed I'm at.

Opinions?

Why change if you're happy with your current results?

EDIT: Forgot - I wouldn't recommend the Hardmenu BIOS if that is what you are thinking of flashing. On the latest offical (24) BIOS I get better overclocks, stable, at an average .5v lower than Hardmenu. The load temp is lower as well.

Flashing the bios by using the Windows flasher will give an end result: no different than using the DOS version flasher. After flashing, you're back to "as new" bios settings. If you can't remember all of the overclock settings that work with your current bios version, then go through the bios setup screens and write on paper, what these settings are. The only other option would be using a directly attached parallel-port printer, and using "Shift-PrintScreen". But this won't work with most newer printers; only older dot-matrix printers.

That's exactly why i'd like to flash my bios to the latest!

And this "Hardmenu BIOS"... what's that? I was just planning to flash my bios using the latest release from the abit site.

There has to be some more people flashing their BIOS in WINDOWS!

I used to flash from windows last year... but after a dead board from a flash gone bad I only do it from a boot disk in dos now.
