I just found out there is a monthly bandwidth limit of 300MB for that storage space. It seems that it will take quite some time to upload all my photos there as backup unless they remove that cap.

This new storage limit enticed me to do so. I set the pictures I uploaded to private but then was surprised to see the 300MB monthly limit. It will only take a shade under three centuries to actually fill up 1TB at that rate.

It lets me use my google login so I didn't need a yahoo account for it. I've got about 50GB and a 1.5Mb upstream so it may take a while.

I used to pay for Flickr and used it to share pictures but never used it for backup because they do not support raw formats (which is the format all my pictures taken with my DSLR are).

Oh, and when I stopped paying for Flickr, they held all my images for ransom, I don't think I was even able to access more than the first 100 images. Not that I really had anything important on there that I didn't have elsewhere but that really rubs me the wrong way.

Edit: don't really like their new photostream. Like that they have an Android app that makes uploading easy.
But as of now, I use Skydrive to share pictures (still have not filled up my 25GB). Their gallery feature is every bit as good as Flickr's used to be. And it is free, but I think new members get 7GB.

Haha. My ISP has a 5MB limit on their webspace. $10/mo extra per MB over the limit. :biggrin:

They also updated their layout which I HATE! Ugh.

Same here I had a pro account when flickr was popular and I would go on flickr walks with others in my town. But now no one visits their website and any attempts to get a flickwalk going never happen.

So while this is nice and a definite improved i wonder if the ship has already sailed. I will probably continue to use facebook for primary photo sharing.
