I think a lot of Jews like Bush because apparently he is "good" for Israel. I happen to disagree. Just leaving them alone is not necessarily a good plan of action. In any case, I just can't see another 4 years with Bush. Then again, Kerry isn't much better.

Frankly the entire neoconservative movement started essentially to promote and protect Israel, and 10 of the 19 members of PNAC are now in the White House or highly placed in DoD, including the VP and SecDef.

As such, this administration couldn't be much more pro-Israel, so it just becomes a question of whether American Jews feel more strongly about protecting Israel at all costs, or supporting their own, traditionally Democratic values. All the Jews I know (my father's wife is Jewish, so I have a lot of Jewish relatives by marriage) deplore President Bush and have given generously to the DNC and Kerry campaign. No doubt many Jewish families feel just the opposite.
