My problem is similiar, sort of:
My floppy drive has power, is regonized in bios and in Windows. Device manager says it is functioning properly. But when I insert a disk and try it, it just says "insert disk". Same with all floppys.
I have tried the drive in another computer (another cable) and there it works. I have tried using another cable in this computer and.. it works. I was just about the conclude that the nice floppy cable that came with my dfi is faulty, but then.. At DFI street forum they suggested flipping the cable over, trying it and keep flipping. I tested this and it worked but only once. Unclucky for me I did some cable arrangement after that. Now I can't get it to work, no matter how flipping cracy I go
Anyone having the same problem? Suggestions?
(oh and by flipping I mean turning the cable around, connecting what was in floppy drive to motherboard and vice versa)
