I've got a bit of nagging issue with my floppy drive. It isn't consistant when formatting diskettes. I often recieve a message saying "Windows could not format this disk because an error occured while attempting to format the top level folder (root directory) area. This disk is damaged and may need to be replaced. Now I take the same diskette and place it in my Dell Inspiron Laptop and it works and will format fine. I have replaced the drive and (checked) the ribbon cable and it appears to be fine. I have an idea this problem is related to either my OS or my motherboard. Both were changed at the same time. WinME and a ASUS CUSL2.
