Ensuring everyone can vote isn't a strategy it's democracy. They are simply countering the vote suppression efforts of the GOP. Nationwide more votes see cast for democrats at both levels of congress and for the presidency. This was even true at times when Republicans controlled all 3 levels of government. Republicans have manipulated the system to ensure minority rule through gerrymandering and abusing the electoral College. Obviously the real problem are the ignorant people that for for these clowns thinking they will do what they say.

Anyway, because of the GOP gaming the system, dems are digging for more votes, to win by an even wider margin, in hopes of being at equal power. How nice it would be to have the people's vote matter equally across the country.
I agree with you about all of that but I'm surprised that only just now the party is trying to go after the disenfranchised. Seems like they could do this in pretty much every state and clean up. And it's not particularly expensive either.

I was going to say yesterday that Florida's repub will probably find something wrong with this.

They have and I don't know if they can stop this move by Bloomberg.

Yeah. This should have happened more after Bush/Gore.

Florida: We're going to circumvent the ballot initiative and reinstate the poll tax but argue in court it is not a poll tax.

Bloomberg et al: We will pay off these fines.

Florida: Stop paying people's poll tax for them!

It’s hard to see what law this would violate, it’s just an intimidation tactic, one that I doubt would work on someone like Bloomberg.

Regardless though, this should put the final nail in the coffin for anyone who thought this was anything but an attempt to suppress unfriendly votes.

The weakness of the threat gives away the weakness of the position and the desire not to super inflame Bloomberg who could make that AG's life hell for years if he decided to do so.

Yea, the GOP is upset that 31,000 people will now be free to vote and since Bloomberg helped organize/finance much of
this effort I'm thinking they will vote blue, here's a memo assholes, TOUGH F-ING SHIT, I live in FL, the referendum to
enable restoration to ex felons was yes, 68%. Hey, here's an idea, if you might want some of those votes then
don't pass a set of restrictions on them to begin with, not a DAMM THING you can do about it now.

Oh look, good old Matt Gatez is getting involved calling what Bloomberg fundraising a "bribe",
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/matt-gaetz-election-bribery-probe-bloomberg-florida
Yup the guy everyone would love to smash in the skull just once thinks the FL attorney general
will be able to get MB for "buying" votes but good luck shit-head, no one agreed either in writing
or verbally to vote in any manner, he just paid their fines. With Bloomberg's assets he can hire
the prince of darkness legal team to make this a laugher.

floriduh man and medicare fraudster (but i repeat myself) proposes tossing out any ballots not counted with 24 hours of the close of polls:

also inside the proposal:
  1. election judges must find the location of the secret ballots by solving a series of clues during the 24 hours
  2. election judges must remain in contact with the dodge ram during the entire 24 hours or they lose
  3. spectators may yell or flash the election judges but must not throw empty skoal cans, half eaten doritos locos tacos, or the jack and coke they made with the flask smuggled in their bra strap, except during the quarter hourly lightning round
  4. election judges are encouraged to, but not required to, pair up with an election judge of the opposite sex. failure to do so may result in elimination during the rose ceremony
  5. the election judge with the highest points at the end of 24 hour counting period will battle the clock and gladiators turbo, nitro, and special guest gladiator steven segal as they race through the gauntlet!

But only if televised live.

So Ricks scott's position is that as soon as the GOP has a lead within the first 24 hours, just stop counting votes because there's no point counting the rest.

FBI won't even touch him. Bloomberg is an ass, but he's a powerful ass. His paper and services are the heart of various financial markets. He's a heavy finance guy but knows or knew tech really well in the 80s and 90s and leveraged it due to his EE undergrad. Think he still controls about 90% of Bloomberg. Bloomberg's past pieces such as the Super Micro one were intentional hit pieces. They financially benefit from this. I don't think this administration bothered to look into it sadly.

This is just a dream, but I would love to see the tables turned. In other words, the preliminary results are so one sided to Biden, that the networks call it by midnight, and Trump and the RNC spend endless amount of time in court to make sure ALL the votes are counted now.

It might happen. If biden pulls Fl by 2+ points, it should be apparent by end of election night and the state gets called. Fl has no extended ballot counting (all ballots due by end of election day) and allows for pre-processing of mailed in ballots so they should all be tabulated by end of Nov 3rd.

If biden pulls florida and some state like Michigan or Wisconsin can be called that same night, its lights out for il douche. I cant think of a viable path without those two, and in reality trump needs to run at least Fl and PA to stand a chance. If Fl falls he essential has no path.

PA will be an unmitigated dumspter fire until probably Thanksgiving so if florida swings to trump, we're in for a long haul.
