I just read THIS and have changed my mind about voter suppression.
During the midterm's a local district here in Daytona FL, (in a predominantly black area ) were all herded into one polling place, I was on my bike and stopped annd talked to a few since the line went 1/4 mile down the sidewalk, some had been in line hours already and were wearing out.

Update on this issue.

6-4 ruling upholding the law. Looks like ex- felons won't be voting this year or anytime soon in florida.

Seems sad to watch corrupt politicians directly interfere with the will of the people.

Can't vote until you pay your fines and the sate can't tell you what the fines are sure seems like unjust disenfranchisement.

Recent Florida polling has 48% Biden, 48% Trump. Latinos leaning to Trump, older (white?) voters leaning more and more to Biden.

The polling was very likely before this last week's revelations:

Trump's disparaging comments of military members as losers and Bob Woodward's revelations that Trump has known all along that the virus is 5x as deadly as the flu and is easily transmissible by breathing in viral particles yet publicly said it was no worse than the flu and that mask wearing and social distancing were bad ideas.

This is a disgusting turn and the fact that there is no active database to even tell these people what/who/where they owe
$$ to makes it literally impossible to vote. With FL, (and it's whopping 29 electoral points) THE key "battleground" state Trump just got a huge gift here, this needs to go to the SCOTUS sooner rather than later. Probably won't matter with Trump lackeys in charge there too.

Polls in florida are misleading. I remember Obama 54 and Romney 46 and Obama won by a hair.

My FL USPS informed delivery contains messaging about planning ahead for early voting by mail.

Funny, last week I got a Rural Customer Delivery Instructions card (PS form 4232) in the mail. Questions about where to leave my parcel, if to leave a parcel, who can sign for parcels. Just seems strangely out of the blue.

Keep in mind this might have been a drug possession charge decades old and when the ballot was voted in last round
there were provisions foe violent crime to be excluded from rights restoration.

Not exactly -
The exact wording is "No person convicted of murder or a felony sexual offense shall be qualified to vote until restoration of civil rights."
This still allows voting rights to be restored to even those by various political offices.

Unfortunately, I think everyone can also agree, these are not the only "violent" crimes!

Wow. NC getting it right. This is great. Maybe too little to late for this year but a step in the right direction.
yup, and like FL anyone entering the system is charged for everything, public defender?, $60, jail cell?, $50/day, drug test?, $25. These all add up to an amount few can afford to pay when they get out and since the FL courts have
upheld this disgrace many here will not cast a ballot.

Unfortunately they do know that, they just know that it'll result in a higher turnout for Democrats and a lower turnout for Republicans, as is the case in virtually every voting bloc. Disenfranchisement is the only way the Republican party stays in power nowadays, since they've completely abandoned all principals they once had that aren't vile.
Disenfranchisement AND gerrymandering. Cant forget that.

If we threw out the electoral college, made boundaries representative of population, and had enough voting machines in urban areas, democrats would own everything. The GOP knows they need to lie and cheat to win. It's sad that there are enough citizens in this country that support these endeavors.

Oh I'm well aware that FL loves locking people up. Don't get caught doing bad shit in FL unless you are a real estate developer.
