Shooters appears to be in custody. He is going to get a trial, medical experts examining him, throngs of reporters at his court proceedings. His image is a beacon to the next troubled kid telling them "this can be you too someday".
The people on the brink of self-harm or desperation definitely care about the media exposure afforded to people who decide to suicide by cop in a school or go out with a bang. Without that there is far less incentive to commit these acts.
I mean it's either that, or people finally realized after hundreds of years that guns can be used for mass shootings and not just killing yourself, or killing a single person in a domestic situation / heated argument.
One of the teachers I heard talking said one of the other teachers walked past 3 bodies that were lifeless.And the sheriff now says there are fatalities as well as at least 14 wounded.

The fire alarm was part of the event. Likely pulled by him or someone else when the shooting began. No one does a fire drill ten minutes before end of class.I doubt the school is secure enough to prohibit people sneaking in during the start of classes or breaks, there was also a fire drill apparently so if they left the school he could have entered with them. He also could have shot his way in.

There had been a fire drill at the school earlier in the day, leading some to believe at first that the afternoon incident was another drill, a student told CNN affiliate WSVN. "Everyone just started freaking out."
My daughter was involved in a school shooting a couple years ago. She knew one of the girls that was killed. It really changes the way you look at a school shooting when it is so close to you.This is just a couple miles down the street from me.Very heartwrenching. We know several people with kids there (all safe but shaken) and that is the school we've been looking at for our kids in the future (they're in elementary currently).
Oddly, the elementary school was emptied this morning with a dozen police cars and firetrucks all around. We were told some a/c compressor was malfunctioning and they smelled smoke, but at this point, who know what's to be believed anymore.

Ahhh missed that. Heard a kid say they normally do drills in the morning when they were taking about the alarm so unless he hid all day somehow I doubt that was how he got it. It’s an open air school anyway. Outdoor hallways. Not easy to secure.I thought they said it was earlier in the day... maybe I'm wrong.

People are tired of mourning the dead who die for no good reason repeatedly when there are demonstrable ways to prevent those deaths. Government no longer listens to the People.
