Flossing before or after brushing?

my dentist flosses before he cleans. he went to many years of school for this stuff. i trust his method.

Interesting....

My original dentist, and my current dentist (only 2 I've ever been to) both floss after brushing.

So I floss after brushing... figuring that's what they do... must be right.

What if I use flouride rinse? I use Listerene/Scope in the morning and flouride rinse at night.

Very nice regiment. Flouride rinses such as ACT should be used after brushing at night time as it strengthens your enamel allowing you to be less prone to cavities. You should also note that no food should be consumed after using a flouride based rinse because it would defeate the purpose of the product.

Floss before is the way to go.

1) Floss to loosen food out of teeth
2) Rinse with listerine, kills germs and washes away loosened food
3) Brush, cleans your teeth and gets the stuff mouthwash didn't

OR

1) Brush, cleans your teeth
2) Floss, loosens food stuck in teeth
3) Listerine, rinses out flossed food and kills germs

Obviously the first works better. Here's what doesn't work:
1) Brush, cleans your teeth
2) Floss, loosens food stuck in teeth
3) Pay more money to dentist.
