Nah, I think the OP and others (including yourself) should take a trip back to English class. Here I'll help you: "Floyd Landis has won the 2006 Tour de France " This statement does two things: Primarily it makes the claim that the 2006 Tour de France has already ended, which is completely false as it ends tomorrow. The sentence goes on to further claim that Landis was the victor of the race, however he is only the current leader until he crosses the finish line. Notice that nowhere do I make claims about an event that hasn't yet happened, no matter how inevitable. That's because I don't fashion myself to be Nostradamos (can we say the same of the OP?)... The OP should have said "Landis has assured himself a victory tomorrow in the 2006 Tour de France with his performance in the last time trial." There ya go kids, remember to leave an apple on my desk on the way out.
