Hello all!
I have a new XMG Neo 15 notebook.
Tuesday at around 10 p.m. I spilled tea on my desk, on the bottom left of the fan and under the notebook. Probably nothing came on the keyboard.
I dried the whole thing with a paper tissue as best I could, but turned the notebook over to see how bad it was. Turning it around shouldn't be a good idea, as the liquid could then run towards the mainboard.
I had important work to do, so I used the notebook for another 1-2 hours After drying it the described way.
Everything I worked with on my notebook went smoothly. I did not recognize any error.
After using it, I opened the notebook and looked, I only saw two drops on the battery, which is, however, shielded.
There was also a drop on the left speaker on the corner of the affected side.
I dabbed most areas with a paper tissue.
Afterwards i put it in front of a fan heater.
At first the RAM, the SSD, the battery were not disconnected, later (a few hours after the heating started) I also removed these one after the other, battery at last I guess (I didn't expect anything bad at first as everything was going smoothly)
Use isopropanol (Isopropyl alcohol) or contact cleaner, i hope that’s the correct name in English?
Is the model actually somehow secured against water?
Is it bad if various cables (power, display port and HDMI cables) have been damaged? I only dried it with a paper tissue as well as I could (outside and inside the connectors i sticked the paper tissue in), as I did with the USB port on the affected side.
Do I have to do something here?
In addition, liquid got onto the contacts of my other notebook battery.
This was already removed.
What can I do here?
Appreciate your help!
