Fly to Vegas from LAX for $36.50 roundtrip

Looking at some airfares... I found a strange, $25 fare for a roundtrip from LAX to Vegas on National Airlines.

Goto Yahoo! Travel and do a search for a flight from LAX to Vegas, should be $25. Taxes and other "landing" fees bring it up to $36.50.

Not bad for a quick trip.

Damn, that's cheaper than the cost of GAS just driving there and back from Los Angeles..

I'm only guessing these cheapened rates are because everyone is in fear of flying.. driving prices lower and lower.. as well as Hotel Rates

Yeah good deal, but do you really want to deal with airport security?
Domestic flight show up 2 to 3 hours in advance. Travel time to the
airport parking lot, then take shuttle to terminal. From LA, I can make
the drive in 4 to 4 1/2 hours. I'm not bagging on the deal, I'm just
pointing out that one could probably make the trip in the same amount
of time.

I agree it's a good deal, but if you have been to LAX lately you would rather drive. From the time you get dropped off at LAX, to the time you get out of the airport in Vegas, you would have already arrived if you had driven.

I heard in a chat room the other night that casinos in Las Vegas are "empty".... which I'm sure is relative, compared to a typical Friday night... but if flying in is a hassle or a fear, I guess people don't go.

I do not understand the casino's in Vegas I just called yesterday to get some rooms and rooms that I payed $ 45.00 last march are $85.00. This is downtown at the Fitz, what a bunch of dumbo's. Found some rooms on the strip for $32.00

Vegas is empty. My brother, sister-in-law, and parents went was out there on this past weekend.
They said very minor traffic on Friday night. Nothing like the usual. They said some of the big
casinos have lower their table limits too (I guess in an effort to draw in people).

Just got back from vegas this weekend. It's eerie... I estimate the strip is about 1/3 capacity. Casinos are empty, clubs are empty, it's kinda dead actually to tell you the truth. Cheap deals on hotels though. They are definitely dropping rates.

I believe you can find accomodation at Bally's for $69 a night, including a few other things. Check out their website for more details.
