Your quick to judge him when it's possible the boat cover (I think that's what it was) was a possibly a piss-poor design. Not everyone's an engineer and can tell when a strap is going to fail.

For what? Yes, lost some of his cargo...but it's not his fault the motorcyclist was following so close he couldn't avoid it. (Had the load fallen lff and hit the biker, THAT would have been the fault of the driver)

Agreed. Dude dropped a hazard into the road, dude is responsible for it. However - being a cyclist myself, as soon as you see something like that in the road, you begin to brake as hard as is safe. You don't try to figure out what it's going to do, you honor what it MIGHT do, and try to ensure that if you do hit it, you do so at the lowest possible speed.No, it was a rolled up foam mattress strapped with what, a fucking shoelace? to the outdrive. Just some half ass cargo hanging on by a thread. you don't even see the failed rope or whatever, it is too small to see.
As for the cyclist not reacting soon enough, that thing bounced one way and then another before it started out in the general right drift. It was like dodging an animal with a mind of it's own.
