I should show up in the stats tomorrow or monday, just restarted 4 machines this morning.

I thought this one was kinda odd.....
On the 6AM update I am showing 7 results for 7 points!

Also I have one unit cached on my slow box. The server has been down about a week or so.
It is still processing another unit, but tries every 6 hours to return the WU to the server that is down.

Do you by any chance have a P4 or Xeon? If so there is a newer technology WU that gives a good bonus on these computers.

Must have been some faulty WUs that ran for 1% or so and then early ended and "send in what have done".

The slow box must have older OS and so you had to use version 4 client?
The v4 client cannot send to the new Collection Server, which v5 will if the sending server is down.
Was the slow box doing deadlineless WUs?
Stanford is hoping to get that server back up on Monday.

Yup...win98SE running v4 GUI (tinker wu's).

been debating if it is worth running v5 console.
I installed v4 because instructions said v5 was incompatable with win98.
Of course I have read since that it only has a few problems pertaining to graphics (whch I never pull up anyway)

Once I get done with the box I am working on, I may take another look at updating to the newer client.

Do you think that if I fire up the v5 console it would upload the cached wu to the collection server? (as oppossed to waiting on the 120 server to get online again)

I don't know, it may.

Before trying v5, stop the v4 client and make a copy of the directory just in case something goes wrong. The v5 client changes things such that you cannot go back to v4.

Yes, I do have P4 cpu's as my top 2 of 3 pc's (the other is a laptop running p3 500 thinkpad with 256megs of ram running win2000 - a real dog doing classic seti but what the hey!). One is a 3.06 Ghz norwood cpu on an Intel mobo with 1 gig DDR 333 ram and the other is a 2.4b Ghz norwood cpu on a Gigabyte mobo, also with 1 gig of ram. I have looked up some info about F@H and the P4 cpu's and that it can run better than on the AMD cpu's. When Classic Seti is over (12/15/05) will be putting all three (is that possible under the same user name?) will be joining this team and contributing my 2 cents...
