I have used the new (beta) client this time and answered yes to the -advmethods flag. Then I edited the image path (adding -forceasm -local and -verbosity flags)

When the service starts, I get....

Service: C:\Scott\Folding at Home CPU 2\FAH504-Console.exe
Arguments: -svcstart -local -forceasm -verbosity 9

Launched as a service.
Entered C:\Scott\Folding at Home CPU 2 to do work.

shouldn't I also see the -advmethods flag? Should I edit it into the image path too?

Hmmm...

Good question! I don't know, but I would guess that it only shows the arguments that are in the image path, because it would read them from there.

The new 5.04beta gets the -advmethods flag set during config and so would not come into play until after the service, i.e. 5.04beta.exe, has started.

If my logic is correct, then you do not have to add the flag to the image path.

Although I would check the WUs to see that they are indeed advmethods WUs.

Being the neurotic soul that I am, I tried putting the other arguments in twice and the client didn't seem to care, so I just went ahead and edited the image paths to go along with the config choice of YES to -advmethods. The clients seemed to run fine (?)

I have the following three now:

2076

But I don't know where to check to see if they are advmethods WUs or not.

After you added the -advmethods to the image path, did it say "arguments: -svcstart -advmethods etc......"?

If it did you should be good to go.

You are very welcome to take part - why not strengthen the TAS-F@H team? They have quite a few noobs and some experiences - but could need some experience and power. for mee 3 on 1 would be acceptable ...

Then of course the Folders would need some strengthening too ... which would get them to do some recruiting.

I started up folding on my machines this morning I don't know my daily output yet, it's been a while since I last ran the program, and since I changed jobs my work fleet is gone now . Should be able to guesstimate output in a few days.

Three days left to the start of the Holiday Season Race in Folding@Home.

The teams are not perfectly balanced but quite close, with the TAS-F@H-team being slightly lower in ppd - production compared to the Folders. OTOH, we TAS-members do mot really know our ppds - I (or we) are guessing wildly. Becuase of that the difference between the mini teams may be larger (TAS may have overestimated their production) and smaller (TAS may have underestimated their production).

Is there anybody who wants to switch sides to make the balance better? :beer:

Because I assume there is nobody who wants to leave! /Petrus thinks: no way. all stay. Who would like to jump off the train now?/

If there are any changes, please let me know by posting or by PM.

Now, lets go to sleep early the next days! We need the strength.
Today lets clean out the comps, remove all dust bunnies, check the fans, defrag the HDD, add the upgrade here and there, exchange that cable to the switch and router, clean out the logs, well all that which may enhance the production a few % or more.
