I had problems at first too, after doing some reading on the F@H forums, they suggested installing the 2.17 beta version from here. I did and am crunching away. Since joining about 1 1/2 days ago, I've done 7 wu's.

I see we are now at 130....we did 230 WU for the week, thats just 10.5 per member of our 22 member team.

If we can get a few more bodies in here we crack the top 100 by this time next week. We are 401 behind the #100 team.

keep it up

nagger, are you sure your WUs are going to Team AT ?
see here, I had a prob with this at first. lost a couple units

Not quite. I have four pc's at home I use mostly for fragfests, and they are all cranking.
My computer at work is going as well.
And for the weekend (Sat afternoon - Monday morning) I added three other PC's at work.
One of those is a P4-1.8 clocked to just over 2 GHz with 512 MB ram. It seems to work pretty well...
My Athlon 1200 running at 1361 works OK too.

This is really kind of fun!

Maybe not. My score is high, but you have the same number of work units in about the same amount of time. If I understand correctly, the points are based on the value of the work unit they assign you - luck of the draw and all that.

I'm really pumped to see the team moving up quickly. This is my first DC project, and I'm glad we are able to make a difference. Anandtech is doing well in other projects, but the f@h group was less than 20 members when I signed up, and few of those were active. I think you joined up about the same time?

yes about the same time. I tried it once before last year for a few days, then swapped mobo, hdd or something and just never got back to it again.

Spent way too much time racing the Porsche.......NFS5

If we can get a few more ppl into it we can move up in a hurry. Well within sight of the heavy hittters anyway.

That sounds like a blast! I have been known to enjoy Monster Truck Madness 2 - it's good for a laugh or two. The announcer is a riot.

I have a question about that- SETI and RC5 etc. have their own place on the member profile list, and almost their own "sections" in the forum. What would it take us to get folding as organized as that?

BTW - love your tag line. My father-in-law used say that.

Well I joined and setup the client on my 800mhz duron. Not much, but hopefully it can help a bit. Although I'm not sure how well this will work, since f@h seems not to be well suited to dialup connections.

Welcome aboard!
We're glad to have you, and certainly you'll be able to help.
I don't know what sort of problems are associated with dial-up and f@h - but I think you only need to connect to get work units and deliver results. Based on the performance of my Duron 750 yours will probably only need to connect once or twice a day.

If you ask one of the "Elite" members, Smokeball for example....he may be able to point you in the right direction.
As soon as things settle down with us moving and all I plan to move a couple machines over to F&H.

Go TeAm!

jliechty, it all helps.. My 2 Duron rigs connect about once a day to send finished work, and download new packets. maybe if you get it timed right you can connect and send/download in the AM before you head out to work/school or whatever.

anyway glad ya joined in, and welcome to the team.

Does this play nice with Seti - can I run both on a wks? I'll see if I can move some wks over to Folding...

Seti seems to hog all the cycles when I run it with F@H. Going to stop Seti and go full blast w/ F@H and UD.

Anyone else run Seti and F@H on the same box?

Which client do most people run here? I am running 3 graphical clients (not screen saver) but the one that displays in system tray. I tried to get the console version working but couldnt find out how to tell it use team 198 and my ID...... Is there any plans for something like SetDriver for the console version?

Anybody know how to make this take advantage of two CPUs? Or even if it CAN take advantage of both?

It's keeping both my 1800+'s at 50%, which is pissing me off.

I'm using the client version 2.17, and all you need to do there is right-click the icon on your taskbar and go to configure and type in the team number--198. I'm not using a proxy server, so all that I left at default.

Edit: The client version is not very intensive graphically...according to their FAQ it uses only about 5% of system resources.
Viper, I think your question can be answered there also

If you have configured your graphical client, just put the FAHConsole.exe file in the same folder. It will use the same settings.
