Gleem, 2 folders 2 different instances of fah running. I went through the config on both. One is set on id 1 and the other id is 2.

Here is exactly what it says right after I hit enter on the machine ID question:
If you are seeing the following message even though a service is not installed in this folder, you probably have conflicting machine ID's. Correct this and run the configuration again.

I do have both instances installed as a service. I just ran config on both of them again and one is set to ID 1 and the other is ID is 2. Just to clarify I have 2 folders with the F@H executable in each.

For the VM yes it is still crunching and I am using NotFreds so I guess there is no problem.

Thanks again GLeem.

I've never run F@H as a service.

Is there anyone that has and can help?

Maybe it is possible to only run one F@H service?

How about running one service and one console?
If you don't want it to show on the Task Bar you can use TrayIt or FAH3Tray.exe or HideIt might still work too.

Sorry I can't help more

I am not too worried about it. It has been crunching away and I have been watching using FahMon for the past few days and everything seems to be going well. I just checked my other machine which is setup exactly the same as far as 2 clients setup as a service. I get the same message. Maybe it has something to do with being setup as a service.

I checked my laptop earlier today and found out that folding isn't running for some reason. I am going to take a look at in a few minutes. I think it is an old client. I am going to download the new one and set up 2 of them. I will look after I setup the first one and see if I get the same message.

I can't believe my laptop hasn't been folding. I wonder how long that has been going on. Got to get more processors going, or at least all that I have.

I have one instance of folding on my laptop installed as service. I ran config again and I get the same message. Looks like this is normal behavior,

Sounds like everything is ok even though you consistently get the error.

If you go into task manager and look at the FAH processes, are they getting the expected cpu usage?

Sorry about all of this, I just want to make sure you are getting the points you deserve!

It does not necessarily mean all is OK. You could be crunching the exact same WU. If you are you can only get points for it once!

Here is how you can tell you might be OK: Look carefully at the WUs unique number. It is Project, Run, Clone, Gen. If it is the same for both clients, you are not OK.

The log file "FAHlog.txt" shows the unique number something like this:
[15:25:49] Project: 2683 (Run 10, Clone 10, Gen 17)

FahMon shows it like this:
P2683 (R10, C10, G17)

For the next few days, when you look at FahMon check that the numbers are different and then you know you are good.

I have been watching for duplicates all week and haven't found any. Looks like all is well.

I have been downloading projects worth small points value. I was kind of bummed last week when all my work was 336 points on all my normal clients. The past couple of days I have been downloading 50 point, 119 points, and 225 points. I am not saying that is bad but it is taking about a day and a half for the small point value projects. The 336 pointers were taking about the same amount of time.

Especially after using the smp client which gets me 1920 points around twice a day.
Oh well as long as I keep adding points to the race that is all that matters I guess.
