If the have nots are stealing my money by treat of force of my money then I say bring it.

Look at this thread. "oh, but they will starve and riot"

Like I fucking care. Let them riot. I got mine.

I was broke as shit and lived off taco bell bean burritos as a treat.

Fuck the FSA. Get to work and make something of yourself. I just finished a 70 hour week. Get paid.

Hunger is a hell of a motivator.

Again, you'd not be the target of these riots.

Also not all of those on food stamps want to stay on them forever.

The sad things are how our unemployment system really stinks as does our workman's comp (unless of course you are looking for a free 2 year vacation at 75% tax free pay).

I am a big supporter of requiring drug screening and some other reporting on those that are on welfare programs. People think it's a myth, but there are a lot on welfare yet living a high life by dealing / working under the table esp when they are also exploiting Section 8 properties at the same time.

More people around here are on government assistance than most places in the country. Basically, what you have is a bunch of people who seek out disability lawyers and get the government hookup. It makes me sick when they're not actually disabled.

I can understand that it's tough to find work. I understand that work isn't fun....and you don't get rich quick. I just hate the feeling of entitlement that these people get after receiving their check and/or food stamps.

A family member that's a school teacher does a coat drive every year around this time. They said, you can see kids with no coats walking around....the parents are driving $30-40k SUVs and have the latest cellphones. The kids get their free new coats...you can go to Target the next day and you'll see them roll up to return the coats to the store for cash.

The kids will be back at school the next day without their coat.

I wish they would start reversing these programs, put disability recipients under 5 year case review, and put a limit on benefits. I understand childcare is expensive and minimum wage can't cover it for single parents, but I hate that society's more responsible for these people than they are for themselves. They need to grow up and stand on their own if they're able.

So you find it acceptable that a class of humans exist merely to consume? They produce nothing but the threat of violence if you take any steps to curb their consumption to sustenance levels.

Seems to me those kind of people shouldn't be encouraged, they should be put down.

I find it acceptable that I don't get fucking stabbed or shot while I'm helping those who need help.

Angry sociopaths can disagree and whine and bitch all they want.

This is what those of us of a conservative stripe find wrong. These people aren't in need. They're poorish people who have redistributed their spending habits because the basic necessities are covered.

Remember your first job? How all that money was pure profit? How you didn't have to pay any (or few) bills? Yeah. Thank your parents.

There's a significant portion of the population that those of us who work are playing mom and dad for. All so that they can drive 7 year old luxury cars and whatever popular tech apple is thrusting on us.

Don't kid youself into thinking that this cost is born by the rich. Screw those guys... I have no love for them. But due to sheer numbers and the nature of taxation, the cost is saddled on the middle class.

With government handouts, it pays to make below the threshold required for eligibility. Say it's 25k. Do you make 26k? 30k? Well, you're still pretty damn poor, but now you don't have your necessities covered. Congrats, you make less than the 25k guy. In fact, it won't make sense to make more until you're *significantly* better off than 25k. But by that point (if you can get to it...good luck with our sellar economy) you're *rich* and subject to a new set of punitive taxes.

Don't it make sense?

People driving $40k cars fall into three categories.

Someone that has become recently unemployed and struggling to find work.

Someone who lives with a SO but fails to report their SO's income on their household income(ie: they are committing fraud).

Someones is in the illicit trade market(also fraud for not reporting household income properly).

There could be 4th category. A college kid who was given a nice car by his rich parents but since they are no longer apart of their parents household, they can get food stamps.

I eat roughly $400 a month in groceries :awe: Very simple and basic food items too. Meats, cheeses, pasta, rice, veggies, fruit, nuts, eggs, milk are like 90% of my food items. Also not fat.

If that's what you have to tell yourself to accept my reply, then so be it. Nobody here likes you. Nobody here believes your bullshit stories. I don't mind if the village idiot doesn't like me.

I kinda like it, really.

Seems like I'm joining this party late. I hear that most recipients receive $250ish per family.

I also support drug screening and mandatory reporting more frequent than semi-annually. I don't know the ballpark figure for those earning income under the table, but I'd estimate 30% do. Also, welcome to my world, as I am confronted by this everyday.

Irradiated milk will last for months in the fridge unopened.

TetraPak milk is shelf stable for months. I get it at the dollar store as a backup milk supply. It's a little expensive at $1 a quart, but it's nice being able to have cereal without making a trip to the store.

Aye. However, taking away their benefits or reducing their benefits will just make them angry and violent.

Making the claim that it'll force them to get jobs is fucking ignorant LOL.

These people who don't feel like bettering themselves, who feel that these benefits are theirs by right and that they should be able to have them without any work or effort and are reasonably ok living like this are what we call the dregs of society. My adopted sister is one. She has 4 kids with 3 different "men", can't hold a steady job, can't keep her cell phone paid, can't afford to keep any bills current or even rent an apartment, and blames her problems on everyone but her, but yet, lives for tax return time and then blows the money within a month of getting it. She'll make major purchases against better advice from all of us and then, like clockwork, a month or two later when she's broke again, she's selling these things at the pawn shop for pennies on the dollar.

Really pathetic.

Remove the dregs of society and society becomes a lot better off. I'm not talking about people down on their luck, hell, I've been on unemployment for a few months before, but I'm talking about people who make it a career to fleece the system.

I support drug screening, too, but do I really? You people asking for it need to think through what happens when somebody tests positive. They now receive no benefits, they go from barely making ends meet to not making them meet at all. Now they are turning tricks or going to crime. Their kids don't eat, etc.

I absolutely agree with it in principle, but in practice there is some portion of society that will never, ever have a job, never, ever contribute. We basically keep them around because we don't find it morally responsible to let them die and/or ship them into some kind of a no-mans zone gated off from the rest of us. What money they get basically lets them live and die more or less staying out of our way. The biggest problem is that they continue to breed, and at very high levels, thus breeding in more people brought up in an impoverished lifestyle who then perpetuate the cycle further.
