Food thieves at work need to DIAF

People at my office treat the cafeteria fridge as a free for all. I had a bottle of salad dressing in there that was emptied. I purchased a salad at a nearby store and when I returned to work, I went to retrieve my dressing from the cafeteria. I saw that some considerate asshole left me .25 inch of dressing. Furthermore, I marked the bottle with my name using black sharpie on the cap. It is clear that someone tried to wash off the sharpie ink as the letters are faded and light blue. Another woman had her entire quiche stolen. Tired of dealing parasitic cowardly food thieves. It is due time for creative revenge.

Maybe you should get on of those little containers for your salad dressing. Just fill it up at home so you can use the one serving at work. It's not sitting in the fridge for days.

Who would EVER put ex-lax in their food in the attempt to expose a food thief? Such an act could be construed as intent to poison someone even if the food were not intended for the thief.

Next time use a little of the salad dressing. Then take the jar, go into the bathroom, and fart into the bottle. Mix well, put back into the fridge. Note who is out sick in the coming days with stomach problems.

This is why i bring a cooler with a ice pack daily and have my lunch on my desk with me at all times. Sad that i have to do this but people have no respect for others property nowadays. Stealing is the norm.

I do this too. Of course I work in the field, but I'd do it anyway. The only food I keep in the office is some instant miso soup, instant coffee, and whatever hot water meal looks interesting from the store. I have a hot shot hot water machine next to my desk.

I have to agree. I would roll the dice in this circumstance because it's so annoying and stupid. Exlax, epicac, or anything similar would work well and I'd happily mix it into a few lunches. The identity of the lunch bandit would most likely become immediately obvious.

Thats one idea you can also find some lockable deposit bags. I have used these.

Also you could use mail pouches that are a little larger.'

Safest is probably liquid or powder ink detection.

You can even easily make your own for cheap, like with harvested toner powder or sharpie ink with isopropyl.

If that happened to me I'd sue the guy/gal and make sure they were punished. I didn't mean you'd do something like that. Sorry for the bad example.
