So, the new Peyton Manwhining rule is now in full effect. I was watching some preseason games last night and think this is where the NFL starts to decline.

If the defense as much as look at any receiver after 5 yards, it's automatic 5 yards penalty with a first down. :facepalm:

I guess the league really wants Peyton to have another Super Bowl. :thumbsdown:

Meanwhile, offensive holding is continuing on as usual.

I understand mugging a receiver a la Seahawks then they should call it, but if they barely touch, it's a flag and automatic first down - that's BS. You should have seen some of these calls, they were just running, and all of a sudden, a flag.

Meanwhile, defensive linemen are still getting choked to death and not even a look.

90%+ of ball contact in futbol is with the foot, while < 1% of ball contact in football is with the foot.

1) You should not be watching pre-season football. Ever. It's like watching porn that's been edited down to a G rating, it's not even close to the real thing.

2) Football has been on a slow downward slide for a long time now.

3) Get used to it, it's going to keep getting worse. The NFL is on its way to being a two-hand touch league and there's a pretty good chance that 20 years from now college and high school ball will have disappeared entirely.
