i didn't say it was wrong necessarily. it just annoys me. same with myriad, it has become accepted as an adjective, but was originally only to be used as an adjective in prose.
I'm here playing devils advocate for a reason. Language is fluid; it is like a flowing river. Placing a dam in the river doesn't stop the water from coming. Instead, the dam causes a massive backlog of problems.

I feel that we should embrace the changes within the language. Let "myriad" become a common adjective instead of just a noun. Don't try to block the change. I suggest you try sitting back and watch in awe at the beauty of a flowing language.

Think how boring language would be if we weren't allowed to bend and stretch it. Say goodbye to your thesarus because there is only one proper word for each application.

sounds like stool activity

Hopefully people won't loose sight of the point behind this thread, and just take it for granite.

WTF does a "unless you are a massage therapist" have to do with it? :|

<<< is a CMT with over 1200 hours of class time and runs his own private practice.

OK I can't tell for sure if you're saying people say this instead of "to each his own" and it annoys you, or if you're saying that people should say what they want how they want. I hope it's the former, but I've never seen someone say "to each their own."

Well, good job. Some no0blet's going to get even more Wrath now, because I opened the Canned Grammar Nazi Response, and now I have nothing to do with it.

I really hate when people write loose instead of lose and rouge instead of rogue. I also bloody hate when people say irregardless which my friends realize so they say it all the time.

I feel as if I am the only person who uses the word MOOT instead of mistakenly using MUTE.

I only just figured this out a few years ago.
And did you know how long it took me to figure out "A round of applause"?

I had always been confused by "A round of a pause" and what it meant. I think I was in middle school until I saw it spelled out somewhere. It only made slightly more sense then. "Clap" seemed like a perfectly suitable word instead.

"That book peaked my interest"

Arrgh I hate seeing that. The word is PIQUED!

"Truely" - I see truly misspelled like this all the time on here.

"Mutch" - misspelling of much.

All of my others have been mentioned already.

I have a friend that says fuseable instead of feasible.

I also hate it when people don't know the difference between borrow and lend.

About 1 block away from my house someone still has a "Vote Kerry Edwards" sign and underneath they wrote "We did you should of". I laugh every time I see it.

Oh, and then there are those people who will call the animal a woof, instead of wolf.

People who want to match me to a dual. A dual what, dual beers, dual games of chess, dual exhaust, or did he really mean, a duel? Stick um up!

Irregardless is number 1 on my list.
Number 2 is guesstimate.

God, I hate guessitmate. But the cutesy phrase that makes me want to punch the speaker in the throat is "honey-do list".
