Japanese "for men" stuff is pretty funny. Like Doritos for me, which are apparently thicker and crunchier, because women apparently can't handle that. ^_^

I just use the unisex store branded stuff. It's cheaper.

Facial cleanser and moisturizers for men? Are they on the same aisle as the men's tampons? Seriously, WTF?!?

I use unisex bar soap and shampoo, and men's deodorant and shaving cream.

I don't use them but I still don't see what the big deal is and why people freak out about this stuff. I don't understand how anyone draws a parallel between wanting a clean face and being girly.

I think it stems from "men" who are extremely insecure in their own masculinity, and their need to constantly reaffirm their "manliness" by linking it to trivial shit like using bar soap instead of facial cleanser.

There was an article on MSN about how the Women's versions of many products were either the same or similar to the Men's versions, except that the one marketed to women costs a lot more since they're more willing to spend money on those things.

I use men's liquid soap. But with a loofah, lol.
Shampoo is unisex dandruff shampoo (any generic version of head and shoulders) twice a week. Most days are unisex Treseme.
Gillette anti-perspirant gel. I believe it's marketed towards men. Don't care, because it has keeps my pits dry.
Cetaphil facial cleanser, unisex I think.
Once in a while, I use Nivea for men face lotion.

It's not un-masculine to be clean, but I think it IS un-masculine to use more than half a dozen or so grooming products. Face it, unless you've got special health needs, a soap or body wash and shampoo is all it takes to get your body clean. It's a feminine trait to obsess about your looks so much that you believe you need extra products for smooth skin, fuller hair, etc. I've known guys who use more grooming products than my girlfriend! They were also feminine in other ways, too...

Why is it feminine? Because you say so? Because "that's the way it is"? Sorry, but no, fuck that shit. Give me a real reason or admit that there isn't one.

I do not. Being a consumer whore wont make me manly, much less if said consumer products are marketed toward artificially engineered male insecurities. I'll stick with what I think feels, smells, or works nicely.

Nivea for Men exfoliating face wash actually smells pretty good, but I only use it every few showers. I use Cetaphil on a daily basis.

And.... you will look your age or +10 years when you're 40. We'll look 30s in our 40s.

if i shave i get carded easily

i got carded to go into a rated R movie when i was 24.

You're still in your early years. I'm 23 and I won't look any different until I start into my mid 30s I'm sure. But these products are for when you start getting older, 40s and 50s and you could still look like you're late 30s.

People who use soap and water vs those using Retinol, Vitamins and stuff in their facial stuff - is going to be hugely apparent later on.

I use men's deodorant and a men's razor, but most other stuff I don't really pay attention. I end up just using the same thing for a very long time since it's what I know.
