Let me tell you, they ALL have crappy phone service, I know .

And yes many stores will never see an intel rep at their store, but the big ones ($100,000+ per day) like the one I work at actually see them quite often.

I work at the BB right across the freeway from the Corp. Offices in Richfield, MN and we get Intel reps in every once in a while. We are the second biggest store outside of the Long Island, NY store, so that is no suprise.

I remember those! And at the show is when you could buy the bundles, plus they usually gave away stuff (yeah alot of it was cheap) and they would have contests and give away more prizes (one year my friend won a hpna networking kit

:disgust:.

That is some really great news! Thanks Cybordolphin. I sure hope this will happen. Now I am regreting the nasty email I sent them! Told them I would be recommending AMD to customers from now on, lol. Oh well....

Actually, it was called Intel Chips N Tips. I got in the P3 500, the P3 800, and the P4 2.53 last year. I skipped the P4 1.7 or whatever it was two years ago. I got in on it this year as well...

Yeah, right. Clearly that 'real job' has taught you a good set of manners. Retail is a very real job, and half of us here probably get paid a considerable amount more than you do in your 'real job'. Loser.

I would not say that retail is something that should be aspired to BUT it is and can be a rewarding job if you enjoy working with people.

That being said I do enjoy having my weekends off and I make more than the asst. Managers at my wife's Wal Mart. If I had gone to college there is no telling how much more I could be making

This tread should not be a rip on retail workers and the merits of this deal are this, Intel wants to generate good will and get thoose who deal with the general public to like intel and KNOW what benifits Intel has over the competition. They do a pretty good job of providing that infop and in return give the front line workers a GREAT DEAL.

Thank you for contacting the Intel(R) Retail Edge Program Team.

Currently, the Intel(R) Retail Edge Program partners with selected retailers throughout the United States and Canada. In order to be eligible for special offers and promotions, you need to be employed in a qualifying position with a select retailer.

Elite Computers is not one of the selected retailers, so unfortunately you will not eligible for participation.

Additionally, the 2003 Purchase Program has closed. Several thousand bundles were allocated for the program and the response was overwhelming. The limited supply of bundles was exhausted.

We thank you for your interest in the program and hope that you continue to benefit from the information and opportunities available on the site.
.

well looks like even though i work in a tech position for 3+ years at this store i still dont qualify :-/ im not even trying to scam them

Thanks to some of you less scrupulous people, a couple of my co-workers were not able to get in on this deal. Lucky for me, i checked every day, but i hope some of you who tried to cheat the system get horrible service next time you visit a retail store :disgust:

Intel just sent me a invitation to go to a Intel channel conference. It seems they give out coupon for a similar bundle to the conference attendees. 3.0GHz and a D865GRHL board at an "Unbeatable price". I would really hate to get 2 nice deals this year. That is if they ever send a code for the retail thing.

Question for those of you who have recieved your purchase code (viper22, snapdadc, et al):

When did you get in back on the 8th? Was it closer to the 12am PDT time or later in the morning? I was just trying to get an idea of whether they go by when you got in or perhaps by last name. I got in about 9:30am PDT. I am not sure when they started cutting people off saying supplies were gone.

Thanks,
JJ

Viper has the hook ups b/c he helped out the intel reps last year. For some reason, intel doesnt have a good way besides email to contact them about this retail program, but, through Viper, the reps were able to relay msgs in which he posted here.
