This may be off-topic, but it DOES pertain to the Intel Retail Edge site.

I recently formatted my hard drive, and now when I go to the site and log in, the window does not open. The site just sits there.

If I right-click and choose Open in New Window, a new window opens with the address at the top (javascript:%20OpenMe('/jsp/main.jsp','750','500'); ), but the page remains blank.

Under me Tools/Internet Options/Advanced, all three boxes under Microsoft VM are checked. I have tried downloading the latest version of Java, but that doesn't help either.

If anyone can help, please PM or E-mail me, as I don't want this thread populated with answers.

Thanks for your time.

.

The java is simply to run the pop window, the site itself is running macromedia flash...so make sure you've got it installed.
Update your IE, or try a real browser!! The VM was under litigation for a long while, so there are numerous installs/OS cd's that do not include the proper version, so windows update is neccessary.
If you are running a firewall, popup blocker, peer guardian, etc...disable it and try again.
Turn your security settings down a notch in tools/security and test.

And i choose to up my post count instead of email, because just like the phone, i am sick of lotus/outloook.

yeah, last year i got in on the 2.53... i don't even work at any of the stores on the list, but i do sell computers, so i dropped them an email, and they replied with my user name and temp. password... pretty nice of them, so if you don't work at any of those stores, but do sell computers or related products, give it a try, but scammers beware, they actually do verify that you currently work there and do have something to do with computers. great deal nonetheless... finally, us retail people get some retribution for dealing with all the whining, complaining and generally annoying customers that ruin many a day at work.

All the guys at BestBuy were telling me how great this program is when it comes around. I was pretty psyched about it but I'm not sure I can justify the upgrade. It looks like my overclocked 1700+ TBred @ 2.12ghz is only around 10%-15% slower overall according to Anands writeup of the chip. Not sure it's worth it. I know it's an awesome deal but still... I think my current AMD setup with Mobo/chip cost me like $100 total. I'll probably still jump on it though just to try it out.

Sweet and they do it again....might be time for another upgrade i think....expect this thread to get huge...the one i started for last year ened up over 1000 posts

And i will verify that they do check employment which is why it took so long last year...so many people trying to defraud it they had to do it by hand...since i started the thread last year I had a guy at Intel calling me with updated info and that they did bust people for it. Please if you dont qualify for the deal than please dont try.

My brother worked at Gateway during last years deal and registered then. His registration still works and he can log in and everything but he no longer works at Gateway. Is he still eligable? Do they only verify for registration or do they reverify for each deal?

If he does not work there any longer than he is not eligible....they will verify employment before sending anything out. Sorry dude.

Since OfficeMax isn't on the list anymore , I sent an email asking about it ...... heres what i got:

Thank you for contacting the Intel(R) Retail Edge Program Team.

Currently, the Intel(R) Retail Edge Program partners with selected retailers throughout the United States and Canada. In order to be eligible for special offers, you need to be employed in a qualifying position with a select retailer.

Office Max is not one of the selected retailers, so unfortunately you will not be eligible for participation in special offers or promotions. However, in the future, there may be other opportunities for your store to partner with the program.

We appreciate your interest in the program, and hope that you continue to benefit from the information and training materials available on the website.

Regards,

Bo S.

First tome they called the store.

Second time my wife sent AN ORIGINAL of her pay stub.(we made a copy for our records)

EDIT-> also they pay stub had to be between a certain time frame. My wife was on materernity leave and we actually were worried they would run out.

Just got a go ahead from the wife.

I am going to trade her 1.6 GHz SYSTEM to My Mother In Law for a HD, case and VC.

I am responsible for the Memory

I am pretty stoked.

Hopefully it won't take a month and a half like last time.
