I am not bitter or disappointed. More like disgusted. My wife spent time watching the Intel ads and taking the quizzes, only to be dismissed with email that basically says, "We, Intel, FAILED to verify your employment with Walmart, so f--- off".

Does she even sell computers? That was one of the questions they asked my boss. Besides, it took me about 20 minutes to take all seven quizzes, so if your wife really spent sooo much time taking them, maybe she needs to move to a different department.

Intel suckers thousands of people into spending time on their little education testing program, plays games with 'count down/coming in October' timing, drag their feet in responding to applicants, then lie about verifying (not) employment, then don't answer emails. First come, first served = BS. And how can a major corpoaration launch a legitimate program with 'limited quantities' and then be 'out of stock'?

Of course, the longer Intel drags out this program the more advertising time they get out of the cost (if any). As it now stands I suspect that Intel is getting millions of dollars of advertising in exchange for passing out a virtual handful of product.

Considering how we've been treated by Intel my wife will probably no longer have anything positive to say to customers about Intel. And for sure our next new system will be AMD just to help fight this rotten stinking company.

Intel shouldn't have to bribe your wife into knowing what she's selling, that's her job responsibility. I think it's cool to read up on this stuff and enjoy it, why is it that so many people want to get something for everything?
Intel does this as an encouragement for retail employees and is not obligated to do anything like this, people like you will get this canned but I guess you'd probably enjoy that with that attitude that you are displaying.

Besides, they're selling about $75 worth of material for $200, so they aren't 'giving' anybody a darn thing

Any word on if they charge you immediately if it is on backorder? My plan was to sell my current hardware when I get this, but I cant be out of a computer for two weeks until they ship it to me and I don't really have the $200 to be tied up for two weeks until they can ship it to me either.

I would say that they put a hold on your credit card, which basically reserves funds on your card for the purchase. So basically they haven't technically charged you, but you don't have access to those funds.

yes, they send you a retail packaged processor and motherboard... that means you're basically getting the same product that sits on retail shelves, looks pretty, and comes with all the goodies (manuals, cables, driver CD's and such....) and the heatsink/fan you get is the one that intel recommends (for what that's worth) but by using the one it comes with, you're sure to maintain the warranty that comes with it should anything go wrong down the road.

It's a shame that intel cpu prices just went down... it seemed even more of a good deal when the chip was selling for 400... now they are down to like 280....

I think they do because even though it hasn't shown up yet on my account i have 200 dollars less available or whatever. I ordered mine on the 28th if i had known it came in a e-mail i would've ordered on the 24th and would probably have it by now .

i used my bank visa check card... they put a hold on the 200 bucks in my account... but now it was credited back after 24 hours. When I ordered the bundle from intel it said they would not charge my account before the items were sent. They only pre-authorize the 200 bucks and it only takes it out of the account temporarily.

Anyone else with the inside scoop on when they will be shipping again?

is the new shipments coming with Win XP in a retail box?
