ummm there is no comparison as i know of that has the game maxed out and drawn.

And yes ive tested it on all cases, dualcore, uber clocked dualcore, quadcore, high clocked quadcore, and Uber clocked quadcore.

Trust me, if you really want to enjoy this game with everything maxed out you need a moderately-high clocked quadcore.

And the funny thing is i know this game is drawing major power. I had to swap ups on it because it was pulling 560W on a shared UPS and poped the Load warning.

Its on a 1000VA ups now solo.

oh if you have an moderately price - expensive computer i highly recomend a ups.

No matter how much fanboys spout off about "guaranteed" overclocks, the only guarantees in life are, of course, death and taxes.

I've played around with two E6600 chips. One was good for 3.4GHz, second was only good for around 3.1GHz. Neither would even POST at 3.6GHz. I've also seen such behavior with some E2140 chips I played with. One was perfectly fine at 3.2GHz+ while another one wouldn't even POST at those speeds.

Lol, not trying to make you mad.

Gamer girlfriends come with their own set of problems, though. Right now I have a hard time getting her to so much as empty the dishwasher while I'm at work because she'd rather play WoW.

It's good to know life isn't PERFECT for ya...

call me weird, but I'm messing with both of my quads right now. it's kind of cool looking at cpu-z on each of them with one having the "intel xeon inside" logo on the top right and the other having "intel core 2 quad inside"...

Charlotte? I don't live too far away... near Raleigh.
Are you speaking of original UT, UT2003, UT2004, or the new UT3?
My favorite is UT2003, although it's impossible to find now, almost like it never existed.

Back in the days when Q3A was new and such, I helped host a LAN party... so by the time the guys all got set up they all got over the shock of a woman being a PC expert (this was in Illinois, where I used to live back then) but I was just barely the best in Q3A, and one of the middle"men" of UT... Still every once in a while one of them would make a hoarse muffled groan or something when I offed 'em, they didn't speak louder I think because they knew it was my servers we were all playing on. FYI my nick was always Demia (not damiea; demia, My main server was always named phobos, and I figured demia was a femenine play off of the deimos/phobos moon pairs - came up with the nick back in the days of DOOM... also the name of my primary PC to this day)

Did you seem my post on page 1?

HardOCP has an article on where they used a Quad, and then disabled the cores to test 1,2, and 4 cores on the same test system.

IIRC, it was the original UT and i'm no longer in Charlotte. I'm in ohio now!

If you're on Vista, you can also set the number of processors the OS uses.

over 10 mins crashed. My ram crapped out too had to run 6 6 6 19 (supertalent 6400 cas5). Still 30C headroom @ 76C It probably would have taken 1.5Vcore, better ram, and better cooling to try 4.5 stressing for longer than an hour. I saw temps hit 84C @ 1.49Vcore and decided against it.

not that I really plan on playing SupCom hardcore (the games seriously take way too long), but would I still be better off with Quads even if I have a 4+Ghz Wolfdale!? By my calculations even if SupCom used all Q6600 cores very efficiently a 4.xGhz Wolfdale should still be equally fast!

i've got my e3110 oced to 3.4 stable, will this game stutter for me with big maps? I can pick up a Q6600 pretty cheap, there is a Fry's down the street from where I live. I've been meaning to build an HTPC anyway, I can drop the xeon in that one. What's the verdict?

The only other game I really play is WiC, which I have read benefits from a Quad as well.

Should I just save a bit and get a Q9450/X3350 down the line a few months? 179.00 for a Quad is really tempting.
