I lurked for about 3 months before I joined, but I see that's not the type of lurking you are talking about now. You are talking about members lurking.

The debates on AT about politics and world issues are always fun as well, there is a lot of info in those threads and you get to hear many different points of view. But that whole arguing on the internet thing is so true, therefore I don't spend my time in endless arguments.

Nope! I'm not afraid to post.

I help out on two web sites and I come here when I have some free time.

Would love to spend more time here but work comes first.

I was a lurker for the first couple of months after i registered, but in the last month or two, i've actually been trying to actively participate (read: nef) in discussions when i feel i actually have something to say.

I used to be active on the BBS, then about Jan 00 I just lost interest... I'd still read the software/OS stuff almost weekly, but rarely posted, read the articles and stuff on the site - it was just that I didn't have much time and the dynamic changed in OT.
I became active in posting again when I remembered my password and logged in
One bad thing about becoming active again, my title was "Member" for a LONG time, even past the post count for Senior, and I loved that - but it was changed to Senior Member for some reason. Plain "Member" was old school

I am an OT lurker.

I've been in/out of OT a bit since I joined, but I mainly reside in the DC forum, which is where probably about 90-95% of my posts come from!

I just don't see the point in just quoting what someone else has said as a first answer to a thread, or quoting a huge chain, and adding a single smilie, or a couple of word answer.

In OT, I am just a lurker, reading, laughing to myself over the stupidity of some of the members (in most of the current YAGT's), but you come over to DC, and you will see me as a very active member. It's just a different thing. Talking about DC with the guys over there is what I enjoy, but talking about crap on OT doesn't.

EDIT: Recommending LB as a councilor? Isn't that counter-productive if you want them to become less confused?

Oh come now, I solve the old problems (or at the very least mitigate them). It's just that I introduce a bunch of new ones in the mix. Think of it as job security.

Cheers !
