The film follows Audi's 2011 Le Mans campaign, and the rivalry with Peugeot. Excellent stuff. I will even say that Jason Statham does a good job of narration.

I just want to say that I always assumed NASCAR was stupid easy. But after watching the Top Gear UK episode where Richard Hammond goes to a NASCAR track and seeing how ungrounded the vehicles are, I have a new found appreciation.

That, and when Juan Pablo M0ntoya didn't dominate the instant he started, told me that there's something difficult about NASCAR that was beyond me.

F1 is equally as boring as NASCAR. With both I can recognize and respect the amount of skill and strategy required by the drivers and the teams, but it's just dreadfully boring. Best aspect of NASCAR is when they do road courses. F1 is too polished and perfect. And I'm not even one of those people who only cares about the crashes.

GT cars and especially rally I find to be much more entertaining.

No, it's not at all easy. I also like it . Was just joshing around. I do much prefer road circuits to huge ovals where everyone firewalls and drafts for two hours, though.

and nascar creates competition and/or drama artificially. a driver can dominate a race, just to have a dozen full course yellows and competition cautions keep everyone else in the game. never mind not being able to end the race without the mandatory spectacle, even after several attempts.

This was excellent. Thanks for the recommendation. I knew that Tajima broke 10 minutes in 2011, so there was no love coming for the Millens at the end of the film (well, except for Rod taking the 2wd record), but it was great to watch the process. I wasn't aware Colorado had been forced to pave the whole road by a lawsuit. Guess some asshat drive off the road.

Glad you liked it. I didn't know a lawsuit forced them to pave the road either. I'm happy that I can say I made it to the top when it was at least partially unpaved. I thought the dirt added a lot to the drive.

It's great that Tajima broke the 10 min mark, but I found it even more amazing that Rod Millen's record was only 4 seconds off that mark and he set it when the road was completely dirt. He held that record for 13 years and only after the road was partially paved was it beat.

Yeah, and like cheezmunky noted, the really amazing thing is that Millen Sr.'s record stood for 13 years, and he ran the whole thing on dirt.

rush is going to be awesome. senna was really good, but it was crafted to show the hero people want to remember. le mans was great, grand prix was just ok. for a very gritty look at f1, check out champions forever: the formula one drivers (formerly known as the quick and the dead and one by one).
