You should add another Poll asking how many of you SO who played the "game" stayed together and got married and stay together for more than 3 years. That is also an interesting discussion.

Met at a ballroom dance on one night. I had a little conversation and a couple of nice dances with her. However, I certainly wasn't in the right condition to ask her out then (I had just filed divorce that week and my ex was still living at my house).

I couldn't get her off my mind. But I didn't know her last name nor her phone number. I kept going back to the dance every week hoping she'd come back. She didn't. However, I found out that she had taken a dance lesson once before and that the dance studio would have her contact info. So 2 months later, I had them give her a telemarketing call and ask her to come back to a dance.

She walked right in, said "Hi Dullard" (she had remembered me enough to know my name after two months of not seeing her). I spent the entire evening with her - dancing and talking. Asked her out at the end. Been together 13 months now.

I had to vote "walk up and ask her out" because I really don't think our short meeting before can be considered being friends.

Nevermind. Walking up and asking a person out is great too actually. I didn't fully read the Poll.

The ones that are stupid are the ones who play "games" when it comes to relationships.

The same people who play "games" when it comes to relationships, are the same type that view pursuing a girl as a competition with other guys, and the girl somehow is a trophy. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth when I talk to guys like that, but then I just realize that they are insecure and a little immature and they need time to grow up.

Durring the summer of his graduation, we happened to start chatting at other peoples graduation parties and then all of a sudden, I did not think he was a loser and he found i was not a bitch.

We started hanging out more and more over the course of a few weeks and before you knew it, we were dating...
The rest is history.

My brother and her brother worked together at Circuit City 10 years ago, they became friends and started hanging out, then I started hanging out with her brother since he was always around hanging out with my brother, then I met her one day and we started hanging out like 4 years ago, then some time ago we both were single and started hanging out more which lead to us dating, now we're engaged and will be married this October.

So we were friends first.

I was actually in another relationship (almost1.5 years) when I met my current gf. Although I was in a reltionship, I couldnt help but to be attracted to this girl (current gf). We hung out often and started flirting casually via text messages. I ended up breaking up with my ex and I was with the new gf a couple weeks later.

Met through work. She was a client of mine; we went out for lunch one day and the rest, as they say, is history.

There was never a friend stage though. We were kissing on the second date.
