For those using firefox(also i need new adblock like program)

I'm using opera for the first time today and i have got to say wow, its jsut so much faster. Maybe its my firefox build (1.5.0.4) but opera 9 is about 20x faster.

With that said, is there an adblock like program for opera or browsers in general?

Opera has a "content blocker" that you can add things individually to, but I use The Proxomitron. It works in IE, Firefox, Opera, and pretty much any browser you can think of.

If you have any problems or need any help setting it up, let me know

The only problem I've had with it is that you'll have to whitelist ("Bypass") 'mail.google.com' or GMail's advanced view won't load correctly.

try the new Firefox 2.0, it's quite a bit faster than the various 1.5 versions.

Theres also Fasterfox (plugin for firefox). Not really sure if it speeds it up but I always use it. Now with 2.0 with a bit of googling you can find fasterfox for it.

you can speed up Firefox tremendously with a few simple tweaks

The instructions are in tewak guids all over the web, that all give about the same advice.

I use Firefox 2 with the add ons called NoScript, and AdBlock, plus Privoxy, plus a good hosts file frequently updated. That screens out most of the junk pretty effectively, a tiny bit still gets through, but not much.
