If I get this, I'm going to feel really guilty. This is almost like stealing :-\
if you feel you are stealing from dell, consider this: the OEM manufactorers of the motherboards and cases are making them in mainland china in essentially slave-like conditions. the CPUs are intels only which means they are fabbed in juarez mexico, israel, ireland or where cheap labor can be had. the monitors are mostly made in korea where workers are currently striking so they can make more than $1 a hour. the computers are assembled in taiwan by mostly girls under the age of 18 living in dormatories of a factory. the computers are serviced by indian (from india) phone operators--turns out it is cheaper to employ brain-dead indians and pay international phone charges (IP telephony, gotta love it) instead of brain-dead americans in a call center. hell, even their collection agents are indians! basically the only americans involved in the whole transaction are the actors who play the phone operators on their "apple-pie" television ads. other than that bull-crap, it is all southeast asian slave labor. so don't worry, dell has been stealing from you and the american workforce for years already.

yeah, it's a rationalization. although i recently heard that dell does 85% of its business with corporate and government customers. you don't see "Phoenix Police Department" or "Myrill Lynch HR, West Coast Division" scanning these boards for hot deals, do you? no, they pay 600 bucks for computers like this, and buy 100 at a time. i don't really think this is too painfull for Mr. Dell.
