USB cable and 25ft CAT5 seem pretty hot, but the rest of it...
Microcenter hasn't had any really hot deals for awhile now. They used to have a lot of good deals on blank CD-R's, but Office-Whatever's have been better (for me) lately. The Pioneer CD-R's (I bought a 100pk awhile ago for $30 some dollars) are okay, but they're ugly, and not Taiyo-Yuden's. OfficeDepot had $50packs of 80min hp cd-r's (made in japan, T-Y) for $15 which I opted for instead. They had an IO/Magic 24x burner for $75-some dollars which i looked up online and found was an Aopen, with users bitching on the IO/Magic message boards. I bought the veloCD (LiteOn) at Best Buy for some $142 with tax and $70 of MIR rebates - which is not only cheaper than Microcenter, but cheaper than newegg..
MC also carries a lot of second rate products, be they CD-R's, surge supressors, or cooling products (fake overprices golden orbs made by AOC.. I've bought genuine orb's online for under $15 shipped..)
The clearance items are a pretty mixed bag. The Epson Stylus Photo 750 I bought is pretty flaky, which may have to do with it not being use very often - it isn't used very often because it uses inks specific to that model, which are hard to find/expensive.
I bought an Efficient Speedstream router there ($20 after a rebate I neglected to send in, thinking I'd get around to returning it, which I didn't) and found it to be a pretty poor performer, unable to fully utilize the 3500/800 connection I was getting from the now defunct Sprint ION DSL service I had at the time; It cut my bandwidth down to the 1600/300 ballpark, and was even slower when port forwarding was enabled.
On the other hand, it's a convenient source for Antec Jet-Cool HSF's at a reasonable price.
Basically, if it's cheap and you're not familiar with the product or who makes it and it's being sold at Microcenter, be wary.
