At the parent's house for Christmas, and i find that their SpeedStream (siemens) wireless router (2624) has the wireless turned off (Actually i knew it was off, i turned it off because they don't use it).
the problem is the 'web access' to the router (192.168.254.254 for this one) does not respond. i've tried power cycling. i've tried the little 'reset' button on the back of the router. i've tried holding 4 apples in one hand and typing in the address with my feet...none of these work. this is not a name/password issue, as it doesnt even ask me for said name and password. i have also tried with both I.E. and Firefox browsers.
So I'm not sure what's wrong, but i feel that maybe a forced firmware upgrade might get it back online, and then i would be able to turn on the wireless function and use my laptop in the other room. i just don't know how i might do this. downloading the firmware from the speedstream website gives me a '.img' file, and i'm supposed feed this into the fun web-page setup thing...which i can't access.
