Ford Fusion Commercial

Have you guys seen the commercial where random people are test driving the Ford Fusion and they say how they liked it better than the Camry and Accord?

They say that is surprised the drivers, but it didn't surprise Car and Driver.

IT'S FOUR WHEEL DRIVE! You can't compare apples to oranges.

Anyone with at least a little sense knows that the Camry and Accord are both twice the car the Fusion is.

I like apples better then oranges and the fusion is a really nice car. Just needs Ford's new 3.5l v6 maybe the twin turbo version making 400+hp .

Even with AWD it's still several thousand cheaper than Camry and a little bit less than the Accord.

Why can't it be compared? It's not Ford's problem the others don't offer it.

they probably compared the cars at X pricepoint, and for whatever price, you can get blah blah blah on the fusion, but only a little on the accord/camry

Well, no kidding Einstein.
Camry and Accord both are two cars, of course they are twice the car that one Fusion is.
Secondly, it's not Ford's fault they offer AWD on the Fusion and Camry and Accord don't at the same pricepoint.
And third, it has nothing to do with AWD. FWD Fusion (and Mazda6) handle better than Accord and Camry because of the advanced suspension architecture and tuning. Camry has an ancient suspension setup that is only suitable for soft ride, not good handling. Accord has a good suspension setup, but it's tuned too soft to imitate Camry's ride. Fusion has a suspension designed from the ground up for the optimal ride/handling balance.
And lastly, why are you so insecure about people preferring the Fusion over Camry and Accord? Are you one of those people who thinks he knows better than others what they should like?

It bothers me that they go on about AWD when they forget to bring any Subie into the comparison. For that matter they forgot many manufacturers. It's a lame comercial in any event.

How so? Face it, Ford did a terrific job on the Fusion, the only thing holding it back is the emblem on the grill.

I've test driven Fusion non-AWD version and was really impressed.

when you're aiming for the heart of the market, you aim at camry and accord. camry is not a car, it's a sofa on wheels. accord is a bit more sporting than camry, but it's still a bit ponderous.

ford has figured something out: there is a large segment of buyers out there who will buy a car because it drives better.

just for the fact that ford has to put a commercial with actors saying their car is better than honda's and toyota's has already branded them as losers.

i don't see BMW, toyota and honda putting out commercials saying their cars are better than such and such.

Probably because the top of the line fusion with AWD and the v6 is the same price as the top of the line camry with a 4 banger and FWD.
