you really don't get what i'm saying don't you. fenixgoon already did. i actually like some cars that ford makes and IMO the fusion is a big improvement over the taurus.
as for saying that they should just spend their money elsewhere... look at hyundai and mazda. they bounced back not only because they advertised a lot (but none quite obvious as the ones by ford), but they also started making better cars. ford has been rehashing the same focus for SEVEN years, the five hundred looks boring and falls behind by a mile in terms of power when compared to other full size, and as much as the fusion is better than the taurus, IT STILL HAS INFERIOR SPECS compared to the V6 accord (which is in its last model years), and is certainly significantly inferior to the new V6 camry in terms of power.
BMW does do exactly that.
and hello, the fusion is a mazda6.
--- is the 300C a mercedes E class?
ford can't make money selling a compact car for $12000, which is why they keep the same focus around (nevermind that it has a much nicer interior and subtly different bodywork than the original, and next year gets a pretty serious upgrade... if you want the euro focus so bad just go buy a mazda3).
--- then how can other car companies make money by selling compacts? i don't see hyundai selling the same elantra for 8 years. also, why not just close the ford brand altogether because mazda is selling better cars anyway?
fusion is getting a best in class 3.5 very soon, for those that care about specs more than substance (such as yourself)
--- so you are saying the accord, camry, sonata, and altima has no substance? and very soon... every other car company will make a superior product by then. hell very soon there will be flying cars
the same 3.5 is coming to the five hundred soon as well (yes, it's boring, but then so is the avalon).
--- again with the very soon. with a V6 putting out 200bhp and a price tag of $24k, i can't see why anyone would buy that over an avalon with much more power for $26k. and lets not mention substance again.
ford is making better cars but you can't just wait for word of mouth. the mazda6 sold pretty poorly at first, well below expectations, until word of mouth started to pick up. ford can't wait that long.
--- who's to blame for making inferior cars for years and years? toyota and honda?
