Economics trumped Trump regarding the Focus. But those US jobs weren't lost, they were allocated to other models. I'm glad to see that he was a major factor regarding 700 new jobs though. Real people, real jobs.For the sake of argument let's say 500 workers build the focus in the US. Those 500 jobs are going to Mexico. Ford identified other work for those 500 workers in the US so yes the net job loss is zero. However if Focus production wasn't moved to Mexico and Ford still moved forward with their other plans then there would be a net gain of 500 jobs in the US.
Trump was pushing Ford to keep Focus production in the US. He has failed.
