It appears that my PS is a "low-end" power supply (Lite-On Model No. PS-5151-6B) with links below:

Link to LABEL ATTACHED TO POWER SUPPLY = http://j23456.50megs.com/pb/ps1/ps5151lay1.asp.htm

Link to Specifications of Power Supply = http://j23456.50megs.com/pb/ps1/ps5151ovw.asp.htm

My PS only puts out a total of 25 amps (3.3V and 5V combined) and 145 watts (I believe it is Form Factor SFX).

Do you guys think my PS will work OK with this mobo/cpu combo?

A DIFFERENT Lite-On power supply (i.e. a newer model than mine) with 145 Watt (again SFX Form Factor) rating is recommended for the Duron 1000 and also the Athlon 1000 on the AMD web-site.

Thanks,

Bud

Hi all, I purchased this package on Wednesday evening last week and took the overnight shipping cuz I was a little excited to finally upgrade my dual celeron 550's. They weren't lying when they said overnight, cuz I placed the order at 9pm and received it in morning the next day. Since that was my first purchase from Outpost.com, I was very pleased. BTW, I got in on the $79 deal.

Anyway, since I've been out of the hardware scene since, well, the good old dual celery 550/ BP6 days, I need a little catching up to do. I know the 1GIG Duron is close to the best out there, but I thought it was a nice healthy jump from 550, especially with the $79 cost.

Now, onto the main point of this post... After running the CPU at the 1GIG default setting at 35 celsius, I decided today to try to push things a little since I'm a little more comfortable with the board. I thought, what the heck, I know this board isn't as overclocker-friendly as my trusty BP6, why not try the 133/133 setting in the BIOS anyway and see what happens. Low and behold, win2k booted and I sit here typing this post out with a 1GIG Duron CPU clocked at 1333GIG all for $79 using the stock retail hs and fan at 38 degrees celsius.

To be honest I'm still unsure of the new oclocking techniques used today and I'm still a little skeptical myself of what MBmonitor and the startup screen is telling me. For those of you who have this combo, what numbers are you getting? Are these numbers possible or am I missing something here because of my naivete.

BTW, if I'm not dreaming about these numbers then, this definitely is a hot deal indeed. I'd even purchase another set for $89.

The bottom must be falling out on this mobo price . Sunday I found out a local build-up shop is selling them for $ 49.00 (was $63.00 there last week ). I ordered the $79 Outpost combo last week and it should get here today. Fingers crossed it will be a good one .

<< ECS has no problems with overclocking with the overclockers bios?? >>

Where can I find the "overclockers bios" for the ECS board?

How did you guys get this combo for $79.00? It's listed at $89.00 at OUtpost

I ended up buying this combo on Sat. I payed the $89 price because of the great reviews I have read here. My total cost was $103 because of tax & S/H, ugh. If the price comes down anyplace, online or offline, please let me know. I also signed up for My Points buyers assurance which has a 90 day best price guarantee (first 30 days free & $6 per month there after, payable annually). I also want to see how well that works. Since this is my first time putting a whole computer together I may be back here for advise, hopefully not. I also bought an expensive 350 watt power supply because of the posts I've read here, cost $50 at newegg. I think this will be fun doing this and I pray everything works. Thanks all for the good info.

It started at $99, went down to $89 and briefly dropped to $79 before bouncing right back up to $89. Some lucky people got in at the $79 price, but most of us got it at $89 where it's still a great deal for a budget system. I put mine together on Saturday with a 40GB 7200 hard drive that was $60 and a Geforce GTS video card for $50 and it's fine, a whole lot of computer for very little money. Now it's time to start overclocking and see how fast it'll run and still be stable. If I can push it up beyond 1.2ghz I'll be ordering another combo this week.

My order is showing backordered on the motherboard. Wonder how long this is going to take to fill.

My motherboard is backordered too. That is probably why they upped the price from $79 to $89....they were running out of motherboards. They split the price; $50 for the chip and $38 for the MB. I'll send the chip back if I don't get the board. I'm disappointed. I sure hope that board shows up.

When the price goes up they are usually out and back ordered. Every other week they seem to get a ton in. Then drop the price. I got 8 on this last deal.

As my first time buying from outpost.com, I am extremely satisfied. The package arrived today via Airborne Express, in great condition. I opened the box to see that glorious ECS box, and when I lifted it up, to my suprise, I encountered a retail version of the Duron 1GHZ, complete with fan and case sticker . When the cost as low as it was, I was completely shocked to see that I was getting the retail verison. Not even NewEgg could beat this with a stick, as it would have cost $121 to have it shipped here versus the $95 I paid. Great deal; darn you Anandtech for making me spend more money

That made me laugh and I can relate. I'm going broke saving money.

Just an FYI, my MOBO is on backorder also while the rest of my newly ordered parts are to arrive the end of this week so I called them up and they said they were expecting a shipment in TODAY. I dont know if this is just what they say but the lady I talked to seemed fairly confident they would ship by tomorrow evening.
