you can use a real keyboard or a virtual one
umm put a chair in front of the screen it doesnt have to be 8 feet wide

Touch screen keyboards suck for anything more than limited data entry. If this integrated a good dication program, then it might work pretty nicely.

There are a about a half a dozen other different 'minority report' doo-dads. Pretty sad in a movie when a imaginary computer ends up being much more impressive then the main star.. or the plot.

Excellent video. There are some similar technologies and videos of them in operation. Of course the interaction is choreographed to look cool in a dark room , and it's hard to say how much of it is really practical, but it is very cool stuff. I could see this being a big deal for, say, air traffic controllers, train dispatchers, and others who have to monitor and interact with a lot of information.

That's a very nifty thing. What Markbnj said is probably the most practical use for this tech. I could also see it being used by teachers as a replacement for blackboards and overhead projectors. It must take some massive hardware to be able to do all that in real-time, though.

PS: does he have a license for that ST:TNG episode?

Sure, it's fine for all you guys with arms and fingers and stuff. See how well it works when you have to ram your Power Chair into it to make all your pictures of your handicapable friends wiggle around the screen! And where is the CTRL+ALT+Del? What if I want to sit on the toilet and read Cliff Yablonski? What then?

It's nifty, but i don't really see anything you couldn't do with a second mouse. The two-mouse idea would be easier on the arms and shoulders too because of less motion needed.
