My theory is due to the nature of CMT, some part of the core is taking big performance hit. So, I need some validation from anybody here that also uses Bulldozer CPU and its derivatives.
And somehow, I proved myself wrong.
When I ran just 2 tasks concurrently, it needed 13 hrs+ per task compared with 4 tasks @24 hrs+ per task. I'll try again with 4 tasks configuration, but this time I put my memory in overdrive mode.

Team Planet 3DNow! is active in the sprints and partially in the marathons too. I added a link to their forum in post #50. Judging from their sprint points so far, adoption of AMD's latest and greatest CPUs among P3DN members seems lacking.

Somebody in L'AF's forum was wondering why CNT aren't more active. Of course with a project so easy to bunker like VGTU, CNT should normally drop big bunkers late in the game. But since CNT are currently desperately trying to remain ahead of SETI.Germany at PrimeGrid, I don't expect them to perform too well in this sprint.

Unfortunately some time today I believe the smoke came out of a piece of hardware. I am not exactly sure which component gave up the ghost as of yet, machine was running "not right"......lagging, unresponsive and such. I blamed it on Teamviewer and the WIFI connection when it started being a POC. Gathering hardware to get it back up and running though (hopefully) pending what went wrong. (read as too much accumulated "extra parts")

RIP SSD, back up and running GTG

Welp......dead just dead she served a good hard life......RIP old girl you did well.

Wow. I am reading some very outdated info about VGTU at other teams' forums.

"It's about cryptography."
(VGTU is more of an umbrella project, with focus on IT/ CS/ Applied Mathematics. They had a cryptography research application going until Summer 2017. Now they are researching optimization algorithms, with a civil engineering problem as a benchmark.)

"Only Intel CPUs perform well on it."
(Current AMD CPUs work as if they were specifically designed for VGTU's current application.)

"You need to switch off Hyperthreading."
(AFAICT, there is a small HT benefit on recent Intel CPUs. Not to mention proper scaling with AMD's SMT.)

Third batch results are in.
Faster memory do the trick (1600CL9 before, 2133CL12 after, no sub-timings alteration). I can shave off my completion time from 23-24 hrs each to 20-21 hrs each. I can see that my core clock now often jumps to 3-3.5GHz instead of just locked in 2.7GHz.

A bit late, but here is day two of VGTU.

User count according to stats-free-dc's last update:
SUSA: 10 users yesterday, 8 users today
LAF: 16 users yesterday and today
TeAm: 14 users yesterday, 12 today

"Math awareness" according to PrimeGrid:
SUSA: 0.6 M
LAF: 1.3 M
TeAm: 7.9 M

While I'm trying to get a few more VGTU tasks done now, I am already looking forward to the next sprint which is not concurrent to any other event.

I'm a bit worried about OcUK. Once our formidable rival in Sprints, now they look very, um, silent. Are they bunkering or something?

Try different ISP. I also had the problem earlier and solved that by using my mobile phone's internet.

I tried that, but it didn't work. I think that may be how I got the problem in the first place.

Just like the F1 race, I was anxiously waiting until the deadline as we're so close with OC.net but unfortunately I fell asleep in front of my PC.

What a race it was. Sorry for Kimi's mechanic though. Wishing him a speedy recovery.
