WTF, I having problems.

Everything (ok, half)j is pending validation. The other one: BOINC says "Don't need CPU tasks" . My CPU cache is empty. GPU's are on Primegrid. Everything else is NCI or No New Tasks.

Primegrid has been NNT all day. I've just reset Rakesearch.

I'm going to bed with my fingers crossed.

Suddenly, we are not only competing with SETI.USA, but also with XtremeSystems and [H]ard|OCP!

The RakeSearch team is already well known for their Zoo and Garden of badges, and now this:

Dear crunchers!

Just to encourage your participation in Formula BOINC Sprint, we announce this teaser of badges prepared for top 7 winner teams!

Each one depicts a canoe which:
  1. is a symbol of team work,
  2. is a popular local activity in Karelia region.
The TOP-7 awards will be in overall standings which include all leagues together.

Good luck to everyone!

I seem to be getting enough tasks. But I have 147 pending for validation & only 10 that have completed to give us points. . Hoping we get the points for all of these by the end of the sprint.

Similar to yourself, SETI.USA had almost no points updates during the last few hours. I on the other hand am enjoying an abnormal validation ratio of now 21,000 valid : 10,000 validation pending. I suppose the validator is working through the WUs in order of their creation time, favoring old stuff like mine (much of it was fetched on Thursday) over new stuff like your's and SUSA's (who appear to have enabled a good part of their resources no earlier than Friday evening).

Lately it seems SUSA has settled for a goal to win against us by just a minimal margin. XtremeSystem's team page is showing Bryan of SUSA as "new members in last day". It's hard to tell though how much he (and possibly other SUSA members) poured into XS again...

Are XS in possession of compromising home video tapes of SUSA members, or what?

Day two RakeSearch.
In first and hanging on by a small margin. Hopefully we have enough left to keep them at bay.
The RakeSearch site is getting a better stress test than the "stress test".

Yeah their site is crawling. I keep checking to see if all my WUs are getting validated every 30-45 minutes.

SUSA has folks from Blackops and MM< whomever MM is

In the old days of SUSA there were people who chased badges, and the Mega Milestone (now called Most Milestones) levels on FreeDC. Those folks added "MM" to their project names. There was a group called BlackOps that would respond immediately if SUSA was trailing in a challenge and needed a boost. Those folks added BlackOps to their names.

Isn't all of SUSA "Black Ops" of a sort? Non-SUSA members don't get to look at any part of their forum, afaik.

The teams which formula-boinc.org is monitoring got 16.2 M PPD and 16.5 M PPD during the 1st and 2nd 24 hours of the sprint. This must be the validator's performance cap.

There is a team firewall that only members of SUSA can see behind. That way strategy for a competition can be planned without other teams knowing what we are planning A lot of teams take this same approach.

The third 18 hours.

Early on Saturday, we wrestled 1st rank back from SETI.USA by some bigger uploads, while the validator at the project server was already entering saturation. Ourselves, but more so SETI.USA, therefore had several periods during which hardly any credit was awarded.

Some members of Rechenkraft.net and of Planet 3DNow! are leaving for summer vacation, and thus their output starts to trail behind their nearest competitors.

At least the RakeSearch team is present, analyzing server behavior under this load, and trying to figure out what can be done for better server performance:
hoarfrost at the RakeSearch forum said:
xii5ku, thank you for race report! ChristianVirtual, kashi - thank you for iformation about large lag! We know, that many workunits need a validation, but don't know that many of them received a two days ago, because many new results pass validation immediately.

We performed an additional investigation of situation and detect a some unexpected behavior of server processes (may be absolutely correct, but really unexpected because during usual loads we don't saw this) - time of next validation of many (but not all!) results and workunits shifted to 2 August! We set this time to 2018-07-29 00:00:00 and validators already returned to process them. Please check the situation now.

We see a several places for optimization and speedup of server works, but each of them need a server shutdown and this is not a good idea for last 16 hours of race. Formula BOINC sprints and marathons is a really cool things!

8 hours since I last had a result validated. 2 hours since the data base for me has updated. 11 results today (the 29th) are all that have been validated. Not a good sign for the end of the race.

Here is a script which looks at multiple hosts and client instances, counts tasks waiting to be uploaded and tasks ready to report, and sums them up.
Code:
#!/bin/bash

hosts=(
    "hansel"
    "hansel:31421"

    "gretel"
    "gretel:31421"
    "gretel:31422"
    "gretel:31423"

    "evilhag"
)

password="engelberthumperdinck"

j=0
jj=0
for host in ${hosts[*]}
do
    boinccmd="boinccmd --host ${host} --passwd ${password}"
    tasks=$(${boinccmd} --get_tasks)

    i=$(grep "state: uploading" <<< "${tasks}" | wc -l)
    ii=$(grep "state: uploaded" <<< "${tasks}" | wc -l)

    printf "%12s %4d  %4d\n" "${host}" $i $ii
    ((j += $i))
    ((jj += $ii))
done
printf -- "-----------------\n      total %5d %5d  ...  " $j $jj
date
Right now this is showing me 638 tasks pending upload, and 779 tasks ready to report.

looks like my boinc clients just got some new tasks. But I have quite a bit queued up that aren't uploading.
