F1 is now just a how to learn the German anthem lesson. sigh.
I would love for their to finally be a proper U.S. driver (again?). Since it is a world title and the U.S. is one of the few countries that supports a race that doesn't have a driver in the championship, I think someone should be forced to take an American driver. If they need a volunteer I'll be happy to try my ham hands at it. How hard could it be?Yeah, it was like that 10 years ago too...
Much rather hear the Spanish national anthem or the Finnish national anthem or even God Save the Queen. Dare I hope for the Star-Spangled Banner during my lifetime?

Seems like it wasn't as boring then, though.
Did Schumacher just lead and run away most of the time? It seems like many of his wins might have required more work.

it was 50/50 for schumacher. much of his success was down to a reliability advantage as much as speed. although the pack has never been tighter than it is now, the schumacher/ferrari era saw more fighting at the front (which in the refueling era lasted only until the 1st pit stops) and less clinching the title halfway through the season.
although the end result is pretty much the same, schumacher/ferrari did it with more variation. vettel/red bull's technique is to simply walk/run away like they're the only car on the track - it might be what every racer dreams of, but it doesn't get more entertaining with repetition.

Rumors have long been swirling that Finnish driver Kimi Raikkonen would be returning to Ferrari, where he had previously spent three seasons. The BBC’s Andrew Benson has reported that the Finn finally signed a contract with the team on Monday, and team officials are expected to formally announce the move this week. Details of the contract have yet to be released.
Alonso posted about Kimi yesterday on Facebook, guess he spilled the beans a little early
It's too bad really, Ferrari will have 2 great drivers and probably still have a #2 or #3 car. Bummer for those dudes -- still an upgrade for Kimi though. But next season's shaping up to be amazing. Hopefully Newey didn't hit the same home run and RB doesn't win by 10-30 seconds every race.
I doubt they can change the laws of fluid dynamics so as long as Adrian Newey still has an interest in designing F1 cars I think he'll be successful at it.
I don't deny that, just hoping the last few years and the new rules will allow Ross Brawn, Rory Byrne and some of the others to catch up a bit

Just read the reports on all the tributes to Massa, as delivered by Alonso and Domenicali.
And it really made me realize, that Massa is the sport's most tragic figure in a long, long time.
He starts out as a young, promising talent, gets an early seat with Ferrari, and then loses out on the championship by half a point.
Next year, that terrible accident, which in an earlier era may well have killed him.
Then he becomes number 2, and despite giving his all to the team, time and time again, he still can't even get Alonso to win a championship, for whom he sacrificed so much.
Then there's that season where he continues to literally clash with Hamilton, which will hopefully remain the low point of his career.
And now there he is, for the moment without a drive in 2014, without a win in years, and beyond his prime.
I really hope he finds himself a team, where he can race again, and race for the win or at least position, as opposed to serve as a backup to a team mate, that in the end can't get the job done.
