There was no "oil leak" in Korea. That was from a collision. Calling it an oil leak is like calling Hamilton's flat tire a "tire failure"...

Many of those are because he doesn't qualify high enough up the grid, and gets out of the danger zone. And it's not like Vettel has significantly less bad luck. The times he was leading and had a mechanical? 2010 for example started off horribly and got Webber into the championship in the first place.

So I think it's mostly average luck, and being slower than Vettel that compounds the situation.

Admittedly, that does leave the two pit incidents, which are unfortunate, but it's not as bad as it's made out to be.

How so? Webber could've easily won the race, he just needed to get past Grosjean earlier. Alas, he needed 5 rounds even though he was on fresher, faster tyres.
I can only imagine know how long it would've taken him to overtake Grosjean with slower tyres, so I'm not sure how he could've done any better with a 2 stop strategy.

The fun part about Webber is that he always complains about everything and everybody goes along with it. No, the reason that Webber can't get past Vettel and gets outqualified 14:1 absolutely can't be that he's clearly a worse driver. No way. Of course it must be a case of Red Bull willfully sabotaging their #2 car because they hate their #2 driver.

Webber is no where near the driver of Vettel and I do not by into the conspiracy theories of recent years they sabotaged his car. But in this case I think they screwed him. The first pit stop was way to early. At the end he may have been better off not to pit at all. The strategy for his race was suspect at best. I just can't believe they honestly thought that strategy gave him the best chance of winning.

He's a good driver, but not on the level that Vettel, Alonso, and Lewis are. All I hope is that Ferrari can give Alonso and Kimi a competitive car next year. And Lotus gets enough money to stay competitive. A 4 way fight at the top is going to be great fun.

Another boring Vettel win... sigh.

Oh well, there's always next year.
Boring Vettel win? I don't see how this race was boring at all. It was a good race out front and it wasn't ever truly clear who would win.

i thought it was a decent race, although i always had the feeling vettel would reel grosjean in with his excellent tire management. still, a very strong showing from grosjean only means good things in the future.

He has really turned his craft around these last few races. Good for him. I hope he and Hulk make a great team at Lotus next year.

Please, the only drama was finding out when Red Bull would pull Webber in and completely fuck his race strategy while handing the lead to Vettel. Both cars were reeling Grosjean in, the only reason he got ahead of them is because both Red Bulls made a poor start. He was never going to retain that spot.

I don't know, at the time, I was expecting the Lotus awesome tire management to maybe pull a trick out of the hat.

Plus, look how badly Webber got past Grosjean. If Vettel had struggled in the same way (not an inconceivable notion) the race would have turned out differently.

What decided the race, was how long Vettel managed to go for his first stint, without losing too much time.

I'm not sure Webber could have passed Grosjean on a two-stopper.

Typical Webber apologist. Judging by how long it took Webber to get past Grosjean on much fresher tyres, I'd bet that there's a very good chance he'd never made #2 on a two stop strategy.
But noooooo, Magic Webber got shafted by his evil employers who only keep him around for playing cruel jokes with him. Must be true because... well, because it's absolutely logical.

I swear, I've never seen a #2 driver display such a passive agressive attitude towards his team and his teammate. But instead of deservedly being called out for being such a sore loser and whiner, the whole British media seems to go along with the story line of the great race driver Mark Webber who always gets the short end yada yada yada and really is at least as good a driver and being outqualified 14:1 only means that he get's a totally different car than Vettel. Really, it's just a Toro Rosso repainted to look like a Red Bull, only the genius of the Whiny Webber makes it go so fast.

I'm actually kind of agreeing with him

Of course, the Mark Webber story has become a great underdog story, so there's no wonder that he gets plenty of sympathy.

and Toro Rosso signed their new driver! A Russian Formula Renault 2.0 champion and potential GP3 champion called Daniil Kyvat, who is only 17 years old.

Interesting race so far... I think I'll stay up for this one.

EDIT: Nevermind... I see where this is going.

So true. No matter who is leading, when the leader of a race is so far in the lead to be essentially untouchable except by mech. failure or driver stupidity, and the broadcast is searching for battles....back in 6-7-8th places, it's just another boring parade lap race.

So...

Vettel wins 4 in a row

The driver I really want to talk about is
Grosjean - amazing one-stop race, getting so much out of the tyres after that huge SNAFU in qualifying coming back from 17th on the starting grid to finish 3rd

Yup, Grosjean is turning out very well, and I think starts to make up for the loss of Kubica.
Also, with Boullier being the most sympathetic of all team bosses, the Enstone team really has become somewhat of a favorite over this season. Getting Kimi was another important step, to get rid of the old Renault and Benetton history, which was somewhat overshadowed by a variety of not-so-sporting successes.

I'm not a Webber apologist. I'm not even really a big fan of Webber plus, why would the British media give a crap about him? He's not British.
