I think you misunderstand what I'm trying to say. Yes, Vettel is one of the best drivers on the field. Him Alonso, Kimi and Hamilton are the best on the grid at the moment.

What I'm trying to say is, I don't agree with you saying Red Bull is nothing without Vettel and that Any Good enough driver would win multiple Titles in a Red Bull. If there was a seat open at red bull, trust me a top driver will take that seat and would likely have won a few titles too.

Button already proved he can win a title when given the car, so I believe he would win a few more if he was in a red bull. Thats what I'm trying to say. I agree with you when you say vettel, Alonso and Hamilton are on the same level. What I don't agree with is you saying Red bull are nothing without vettel. Do you really think Vettel is worth more to Red Bull than Adrian Newey? They would toss vettel out in a second if it were between those 2.
+1
Adrian Newey is the most valuable asset in F1 right now. His brain is probably cloned and downloaded, his DNA stored in the royal vault.

So what's really going on? Did Vettel really do something the team didn't want to happen? Or was this exactly the way the team wanted things to be?

I can't understand all the changing stories when team orders are allowed. Why not just tell Webber to let Vettel pass and be done with it?

So, has the team been favoring Vettel all along? That would explain some instances where Webber's car let him down at times during a race, or where Webber just seemed slow. It wouldn't surprise me to learn that Webber's car is not as good as Vettel's, because that's the way the team wants it.

Can you just slightly detune an F1 car if you want? I don't know if you can do much with the ECU's supplied by F1.

I hate to put on the CT hat, but I'll bet Webber has no confidence in the team anymore to give him a car equal to Vettel's.

Right on the steering wheel are engine map settings from conservative to aggressive which will use more fuel and put higher loads on the engine (more timing / higher revs most likely). My understanding is they told both drivers to turn their cars down and Vettel's car wasn't supposed to be turned down as much as Weber's, but Weber said on the podium that Sebastian didnt even turn his down etc. They probably had different plans for the cars to make sure both finished and at 1-2. I'd guess Vettel either realized his car could pass easily or he waited till he had a big gap over Weber to do even that modest turn-down, and Weber simply obeyed right away. Either way it's a mess. It would have been hilarious if Vettel did indeed ignore all instructions and ran out of fuel or blew up the engine.

Webber probably thinks that he has no chance at a driver's championship at all with Red Bull sandbagging him.

It would be tough enough against Vettel anyway, but if the team is working for Vettel primarily then...

It's one thing to be the #2 driver and you know that's the deal and it's out in the open. It's another thing if the team is actively working against you when you are doing well.

So what is Webber supposed to do for the rest of the season?

I don't know how Webber would have any confidence any more.

Of course Red Bull might not be sandbagging him, but it sure looks that way, and I don't see how anyone could blame Webber for thinking that's the case.

Then again, maybe Webber doesn't care?

Red Bull needs to cut the equal drivers crap and just come out and say Vettel is #1 and Webber is #2. It's obvious that's how they feel. Just put out there and make that the way it is. Massa knows his role and Ferrari and it works out better for everyone involved.

I'll probably watch it because I'm a sucker for movies like this but looking at some of the "action" shots it looks kind of like that horrible Stallone movie 'Driven' from a decade ago. That movie was a total piece of crap. Hopefully this will be more believable.

I'm not sure how you made that comparison. It looks nothing like Driven. Nothing.

One of the wreck scenes looked straight out of Driven. When you've watched as much F1 as I have you know when a crash doesn't look realistic at all.

And I said some of the action shots look kind of like that movie.

What else am I going to compare it to? Days of Thunder? Beaches? Four Weddings and a Funeral?

I watched the trailer and it looks good. I'm going to go see it because I love F1 and I'm generally a fan of Ron Howard movies so it will probably be worthy. I did however notice a crash sequence in the trailer that didn't look very realistic to me. We're talking about 1-2 seconds from a trailer, and that is just my initial reaction. What more can I tell you?

It will be interesting to see how Vettel does on the prime tire. Hamilton needs to hope to pull an early lead and then pit right when his tires start to go off.

Personally, I think everyone on options is going to fall into Vettel's clutches after a few laps.

Conspiracy theorists and Vettel haters are going to go crazy with the Webber deal.

Race should be interesting. I'm surprised only two are doing the prime tire. Can't wait to see how it unfolds.

Oh hell yea.

Just went to greenmangaming.com to buy F1 2012 not knowing there was a sale on racing games. Was hoping to get it for $30 with a coupon code, instead it was $10.88 with coupon code GMG20-GGN5D-FC3NA.

Woot!

Anyone play? Interested in co-op? Guess you can play seasons as teammates. Have to follow my team orders though .

Well, that was a strategy-heavy race.
Kimi's bad start was very unlucky, he might have been able to duke it out with Alonso up front. Nice to see him on the podium again.
Great final laps by Vettel, but probably a bit too greedy at one moment, where he went wide.
Wonder what will happen with the DRS under yellow investigation. With a third of the grid under investigation, that's kind of weird.
Also, I wonder how Perez didn't get a penalty for running Kimi off the track.
Great race and quali by Ricciardo.

Yes, awesome indeed! Congrats to Fernando but I absolutely LOVED watching Hamilton able to hold on to keep Vettel from overtaking and clean ta' boot!!! Smoking tires into that last turn, I thought for sure Vettel would take him but those softs were going on Vettel's car and that momentum just went away in the last couple turns.

And friggin Kimi. Never did change that nose. Hats off to Mr., "Leave me alone,I know what I'm doing!"
