So with 1/2 million point lead, we pretty much have 3rd ?

It's practically over for me much earlier:
Code:
update requested by user
Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
No tasks sent
No tasks are available for Smash Childhood Cancer
No tasks are available for OpenZika
No tasks are available for Help Stop TB
No tasks are available for FightAIDS@Home - Phase 2
No tasks are available for Mapping Cancer Markers
No tasks are available for FightAIDS@Home - Vina
Tasks are committed to other platforms
(I don't know why Outsmart Ebola isn't explicitly mentioned, but it is out of tasks too. Or maybe that's where the "Tasks are committed to other platforms" line comes from.)

Nice: A bronze medal which feels like a gold medal this time.

And personally, it felt good to support bioscience this way. I chose to get mostly Mapping Cancer Markers units --- not the top credit yielder, but the subproject which interested me most and which I had been pursuing at a very low volume before the sprint already.

One heck of a run fellas. Thank you all.

@Kiska Well done, cooling off down under yet?

We also had some members who didn't know they were racing perhaps, and I'd like to thank them, in hopes they notice they've been tagged and perhaps become a bit more active in this forum. Several of you do drop by on occasion, and we miss you when you're 'quiet.'

This picture (from the Pentathlon) explains just how well we have performed in the Formula BOINC Sprints. Our new friends at OCN and OcUK are major players!

To have had the success we have had against them thus far in the FB Sprints is impressive! Good work guys!

And the fifth project is...Moo! Wrapper? I guess they're not following the Pentathlon. But there will be about one day where it doesn't overlap Einstein in the Pentathlon.

there will be about one day where it doesn't overlap Einstein in the Pentathlon.

Fortunately Moo! Wrapper is a quorum=1 project.
Also have a look through thread "RC-5/72 -- Two more days - Team Anandtech moves up". The thread is originally about the distributed.net RC5-72 project, but discussion about Moo!Wrapper got mixed in (notably, how to make sure that work being done via Moo!Wrapper is also conted for TeAm AnandTech at distrubuted.net).

Moo!Wrapper is a bit special on multi-GPU hosts because one task will occupy all GPUs of same architecture at once. On my PC with 3 GPUs of 2 different models (one being a little bit slower than the other two), this causes that the faster GPUs remain unused for a short while near the end of a task. From what I understand, it's just that several dnetc blocks are packed into one moowrapper task, the task grabs all GPUs of same architecture, and then sends off several blocks onto each GPU. I have read that this may even be an issue on PCs with identical GPUs, as some tasks may distribute blocks unevenly over the GPUs. Also, it's problematic if other projects are meant to run on the same machine simultaneously because resource allocation between projects is messy.

A posting from 2012 describes how to force one task per GPU on ATI GPUs:
http://moowrap.net/forum_thread.php?id=215&postid=2449
I haven't tried yet to adapt it to my NVIDIA GPUs.

Task duration on a single AMD W7000 is 1/2 h, on 3 GTX1080/1080ti somewhat over 7 minutes.

Are we thinking correctly about this Sprint, being in the heat of the other race?

Don't matter too much one way or the other but ...

Sprint race points are the only points we cannot lose!

This race goes all year so we can make up, but near the end the points from this Sprint might make all the difference?

The question is, how many teams which are listed in League 2 of Formula BOINC are aware of Formula BOINC sprints, and how many of these have not signed up at Pentathlon?

Good question. And how many on those teams care about it. At EVGA we can only summon up about about 10 -15 who take an interest in these competitions while we have many that do their own pet projects. I've even seen some who for instance crunch a project all the time and back off during a challenge. The vast majority of our cruncher's have never posted in the forum, who knows if they even visit it.
Anyhoo, I ramble. Take it easy on us in Moo! We like where we are. That is, ahead of schickendinner.

I managed to get some machines that are not bunkering other projects busy building up some Moo! It won't be spectacular, but it'll be something...

I say balls to the wall* on the Pentathlon, then our GPU's can Moo! all they want for the last day after Einstein is over.

*Ok, seriously where do we get some of our slang phrases? What the heck is that really supposed to mean anyway? "Give it all you've got" yeah, that's the meaning, but how does that phrase translate into give your all?

Uhm....maybe, didn't someone say that yesterday? lol, haven't looked into it yet.

In other news, we FINALLY got our Bronze Medal back from the Engraver, for our victory in WCG. EDIT: The WCG at the bottom looks off-center to me, I'm sending it back, with a very nasty note attached. j/k
