Nvidia only, but I think you'll be lucky to get one task.

Nvidia only, up to 2 tasks per 'thread' when tasks are available. Tasks are variable, but typically take 8 hours on a 1080, and 10-12 hours on a 1070. You CAN run more than one task per GPU, but it takes about twice as long, which might be a good thing if you're trying to bunker. Points are VERY good on the long tasks, short tasks, not so much.

I was getting what looked like poor utilization with only one task running. Might be a good idea to switch to short tasks at some point, though, or maybe step down to one long task at a time first, perhaps. I hope I have the time to watch over them.

There have been pretty much only "ACEMD long runs" tasks available during the last few days, not any of the others.

Good luck with the FB sprint guys. I'll pass for this time because I don't have any nvidia gpu in my arsenal.

Related to Stefan's post about nobel prize. This year's nobel prize for physics is awarded to the scientists who directly detected gravitational waves. It eventually became LIGO and their raw data are still crunched by DC community under Einstein@Home project.

Wow, I just started to upload GPU Grid work, and one file is over 100MB! Sure hope you folks don't have data caps! (I don't. )

Here is a look at the workstation of UPF's bio-informatics lab, where project scientists are feverishly entering new WUs for us.

Well, EVGA passed us. I guess it makes sense - they don't make AMD cards.

Day one and the Crunchers at EVGA are kicking a** and not even bothering to take names.
We, on the other hand are hanging on to second, could be another close one between us and OcUK.

My laptop's mobile Kepler is going to finish a single task during the sprint... and won't get bonus credits for all the wirring of its tiny fan, as it will take more than 2 days for the task.

I'm sorry, why does the scoreboard have very small number on it? How much credit do you get per task from GPUGrid?

@ao_ika_red, credits per task are fixed, but vary between WU types. My last 20 tasks got 77,250 (1x), 137,850 (6x), 157,200 (2x), 252,750 (8x), or 277,950 (3x) credits. IOW credits are mostly at the order of 0.15...0.25 M per task. When OcUK are for example 1.5 M behind us, they just need six tasks to catch up. (Go OcUK go! ) On the other hand, tasks take typically 8 or 10 hours on good cards, and this makes hourly updates of the sprint scores a bit jumpy.

Edit: Actually, while baseline credits per task are fixed, the project server gives extra credit if the result is reported within 48 hours, and even more if within 24 hours.

PS, if you meant low credits in the sprint compared with the marathon credits, that can be explained by the project being popular enough to be run by many people throughout the year, plus the server emitting new work at a slow rate, which can already be aggravating outside a sprint. This means that the project is handing out the very same amount of tasks today as it did day in day out before the sprint started. Of this limited number of tasks per day, lots and lots go to teams who are not aware at all that there is a sprint going on.
