Welcome to the forums! Yes, it will be enough, but if you want to stay below $ 50, take the AX450-PN... Still a bit better...

BTW I'm waiting for that mobo to arrive...

Nice and stable powering my X1800XT + 4 hardrives + 1 DVD burner + 1 HDTV Wonder + 1 Sapphire Theatrix TV card...should be plenty.

Not much of a point to that more expensive memory. Find some cheaper stuff like Corsair Value or OCZ Value. With that money saved put it towards a faster video card or a faster processor (up to a regular Athlon 64, like a 3000+ Venice if possible). That would provide actual performance increases as opposed to the RAM which isn't really doing much if you're not hitting the high FSBs or pushing fast memory timings.

PC-4000 @ 250 \ 270 I think it's better than DualChannel DDR400
So it's worth the extra 30$ .

The better memory won't really do much since there's no penalty to using a divider on Athlon 64's. Nice choice on the processor though, mine's currently doing 2240 on stock volts (the board I'm using with it has no vCore options)

My "backup pc"
Forton AX400
Opteron 148 @ 2.9ghz
Evga NF4 SLI Mobo
2 x 1gb Crucial DDR 400
Dual 7800 GTs in SLI
SB audigy 2
3 Hard drives
Dvd burner
Dvd player
6 case fans and lights
Aerogate II
Coolermaster Muskateer guages
pc runs just fine with this power supply, makes me think i wasted money on my OCZ Powerstream 600W in my "main" rig!

You're getting overpriced premium RAM and and not even an Athlon 64?! Ditch it and go with 1GB of value RAM and an Athlon 64. And yes, the 400W Fortron should definitely be enough.

I just got one of these PSU's....powers my rig quite well. Originally I got an Antec SmartPower 2.0 450W, but its 12V rails were only 15A and 17A. With the Fortron, I spent $33 Cdn less and have dual 12V rails at 18A each.

FSP stuff is great. I have the 450 and am very pleased with it. For a budget conscious PC such as the one you're building, the 400 will be more than adequate. You'll be impressed with the build quality and fit and finish of these units. Good job picking the FSB -- too many people skimp on the PSU.

Thanks ..

W/ OC @300HTT it's easy to use the ram @DDR500 - 550 speed . It's not waste of money , really worth it especially if you don't have dual channel .

That's great .
What about the 12v+ rail ?

Using the MyGuard utility at my desktop, 12v rail is currently at 12.1v.
Seriously, this PSU is BY FAR the bang for buck power supply ive ever owned.

No wonder everyone thats ever owned one recommends them!

I've been really glad to see more people recommending fortron units lately, even if its just next to the standard antec recommendations. It seemed like everyone knew they made good products, but no one was buying them. Which sort of made me afraid they'd start changing their products for the worse to compete.

I've been very happy with their products, and they're also much more affordable then the other quality players. There's no flash, in fact many of their units are downright ugly...but what they lack in bling they make up for in reliability and stability. And who needs a riced out PSU anyway?

Has anyone used the AX-450-PN thats on newegg for about $50 with the asrock939 dual-sata2? I've been thinking about snagging one to upgrade my 350w unit, but I've heard some people have issues with cold booting and certain powersupplies with this board.
